I work with remodelers and builders who are done chasing price-shoppers, tired of agencies that don't understand the construction sales cycle, and ready to grow quality leads.

If you're paying for SEO, ask your agency for one thing tomorrow.

Not a traffic report. Not a ranking summary. Not a dashboard screenshot.

Ask for a list of the specific back-end changes they made to your website in the last 30 days.

The actual tasks. The pages they edited. The code they touched. The content they added.

If they send you a traffic report instead of a task list, you have what I call Ghost SEO.

That means someone set up your site once, maybe years ago, and has been collecting a monthly check ever since. No active work. No ongoing optimization. Just a retainer that renews and a report that looks busy.

I've seen this over and over. Contractors paying $1,500 to $3,000 a month for SEO "maintenance" where nothing has been maintained in six months or longer.

The report always looks fine. The work just isn't there.

One email. One question. The answer tells you everything you need to know.

I audited a contractor’s marketing not long ago.

They were paying $90,000 a year for SEO, lead generation, and website management.

When I traced where their leads were actually coming from, most of them were already finding the company without that platform.

The platform was taking credit for traffic that was already happening.

$90,000 a year.

For a receipt.

You know that feeling when something’s on auto‑pay every month… and you think it’s fine… but you couldn’t actually explain what you’re getting if someone asked?

That’s marketing drift.

🧱 I work with Wisconsin custom builders and remodelers who are strong operators, not marketing auditors.

Here’s what I keep seeing:

Google Business Profile polished once… no new photos or posts in over a year.

Facebook ads from 2023 still running with tired creative and almost no clicks.

SEO retainer at $2,500/month - but when a homeowner asks ChatGPT "Who should I hire for kitchen remodeling in Madison?", your competitor shows up and you don't.

The invoices are consistent. The results… foggy.

Most of the time it’s not anyone being shady. It’s just what happens when no one really owns the question:

“What are we paying for, and is it still working for the business we are now?”

💭 Quick gut check:

✓ Could you name which line item helped land your last three signed contracts?

✓ If you asked your team to map marketing spend → actual jobs, could they do it confidently?

✓ When's the last time your marketing person came to you and said, “I think we should cut this, it's not working”?

If those land a little close to home, you’re not alone. A lot of excellent builders are in the same spot.

Even a simple 20‑minute line‑by‑line look at your stack can surface money to cut - or redeploy into the kind of work you actually want more of.

For years, builders and remodelers hired me for photos & videos.

I’d show up on Wisconsin job sites - custom homes, kitchen gut jobs, roof tear‑offs - and document the work from mud and framing to final walkthroughs. Over time, the questions started to change.

Instead of “Can you get a shot of this backsplash?”, I started hearing:

“We’re spending real money on marketing… I have no idea if it’s actually doing anything.”

“Why are we getting so many tire‑kickers?”

“How is that ‘good enough’ competitor everywhere online when our work is clearly better?”

So I started looking under the hood.

At one point, a contractor handed me a thick stack of marketing reports and said, “I know there’s waste in here, but I don’t have the brain space to figure it out. Can you just tell me what’s actually working?”

That single audit uncovered over $90,000 a year in wasted marketing spend.

Since then, it’s turned into:

Finding tens of thousands of dollars in wasted marketing spend for contractors who already had full schedules

Running live AI and search checks that showed some builders were basically invisible while lesser competitors got recommended

Helping owners stack up their reviews, project proof, and intake so their best work actually pulls in more of the right jobs - not just more noise

👉 I serve as an independent Marketing & Systems Auditor for builders, remodelers, and trades.

I don’t sell ad campaigns or retainers. I come in as a neutral set of eyes, look at what you’re already doing, show you what’s pulling its weight (and what isn’t), and help your marketing match the level of work you actually do.

If you’re a builder or remodeler and this hits a little too close to home, DM and I’ll walk you through what I look at in a quick checkup.

Did you know 65% of homeowners now ask ChatGPT or Claude by VOICE searching "Who's the best remodeler near me?" instead of scrolling through websites?

Here's the problem: Most contractors don't show up in those answers - even with great reviews and 20 years in business.

I built a free 2-minute test that shows you exactly what happens when someone asks AI about remodelers in your area.

You might be invisible and not even know it.
