At one time, you could look out at our parking lot and count ten studio trucks lined up at once from Universal, Warner Bros., and Paramount. Engines were running, waiting on an order phoned in forty minutes prior.
Our original location, now in Sun Valley, sat on Hollywood Way just three miles from the back gates. The whole town ran on the same clock we did. Studio teams operated with a "need it now" mentality out of sheer necessity. While other suppliers took days, we had metal on a truck within an hour or staged for pickup before they even hung up the phone. They came with lists, not questions. So, we stocked exactly what they needed, like Speed-Rail, Hollander fittings, pipe, tubing, angle, and sheet. They got a curated selection in one stop instead of four.
What they built with it was extraordinary. When the first Pirates of the Caribbean went into production, someone built a sixty-foot replica ship inside a warehouse. If the script called for a ship, somebody built a ship. That’s the legacy we were part of, and it’s still how we operate. The metal you need, when you need it, the Hollywood way.
