Why did I start a consulting company?
Integrity & Risk Consulting was created because of my daughter’s experience as a patient.
She went to a dental clinic in the Temple Terrace, Florida area for what was expected to be a routine cleaning. After that visit, multiple procedures were recommended, including a root canal. An estimate was provided, and a plan of care was outlined. Trusting the process, she agreed to proceed.
What followed raised serious questions.
Procedures described as “necessary” were added that were not part of the original plan of care. I understand plans can change, but this was a dental procedure that already included multiple extensive X‑rays—beyond what insurance typically requires. Some of the added procedures were not covered by insurance and were presented as required to complete the root canal.
One costly add‑on procedure was never performed because they were unable to obtain a blood sample. Despite that, a different procedure was substituted and billed, without clear documentation explaining the change. Over time, these additions extended what should have been a straightforward root canal into a process lasting more than six months.
As a parent, this was unsettling. As someone who values clarity and documentation, it was troubling to see how far the care deviated from the original plan without transparent records to explain why.
Integrity & Risk Consulting exists to help individuals understand healthcare records when timelines, documentation, and expectations no longer align. If you’ve ever questioned whether your records truly reflect your care, you’re not alone—and clarity matters.
