Catalent will provide formulation development, commercial manufacturing, and packaging at our St. Petersburg, Florida facility, supporting Mantra as it brings its self-care portfolio to market.

Developing inhaled biologics requires more than creating a respirable powder. The formulation must also preserve protein structure, remain stable during storage, and disperse efficiently when delivered to the patient.

In a recent publication, our scientists explored how inulin, trehalose, and mannitol work together to influence protein stability, surface properties, and aerosol performance in spray-dried inhalation powders. The findings provide new insight into how excipient selection can help balance stability and dispersibility, two critical requirements for successful pulmonary delivery of biologics.
