A little mist, a lot of joy! 💦☀️

Sometimes, the simplest things create the most beautiful moments of community connection.

Thanks to Resilient Cities Catalyst, we were able to bring a water mister to Sulphur Springs!
Alongside the incredible team at Community Stepping Stones to set it up during the school’s Free Flea Market, giving families a chance to cool off, escape the Florida heat, and have a little fun together.

The water mister offers some relief from the heat but maybe just as importantly, it became a space for play, laughter, and connection of all ages!
Seeing all the joy it sparked was really the kind of community magic we love to see! 💛

As we continue this work in Sulphur Springs, we’re excited to keep finding creative ways to make neighborhood spaces more welcoming and comfortable, while creating more opportunities for people to come together and enjoy them.

What does it look like when a neighborhood plan moves into actual implementation? 👀

In Sulphur Springs, we know we can’t ask folks to step into leadership and volunteer roles without also paying attention to what they need to participate in the first place.

Sometimes that means connecting someone to resources to help them stay in their home or access food. Sometimes it’s making sure they know what’s already happening in their neighborhood. Sometimes it’s simply giving people a way to stay connected until they’re ready to get more involved.

For the past two months, we’ve been working alongside residents, businesses, community partners, and the City of Tampa to build the infrastructure needed to connect, communicate, and organize for action. 💪

A big part of that has been organizing and training our resident leaders, the ✨ Sulphur Springs Stewards ✨ who are going door to door, visiting businesses, showing up at events, sharing resources and opportunities, and listening to what their neighbors need and want to be part of.

These first two months have been about building the connections. Now we’re excited to move into more of the DOING and bring more of the actions identified through the neighborhood plan to life.

It’s been a FULL summer at Conscious Community Connectors! ☀️

We’ve been a little quiet on here because… we’ve been outside. 😅

Between workshops, canvassing, community conversations, spreadsheets, resource connections, follow-ups, and all the behind-the-scenes work it takes to make engagement actually lead somewhere, posting on here kept getting pushed down the list.

But we have A LOT to catch you up on.

This summer, we:
✨ Wrapped up engagement for the Temple Terrace 2050 Vision Plan
✨ Moved deeper into implementation + capacity building in Sulphur Springs
✨ Continued conversations across rural Hillsborough through the Urban Expansion Area Study
✨ Grew our team
✨ Built a whole lot of systems behind the scenes to help turn community input into tangible action

And through all of it, we’ve been learning A LOT.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more of the people, places, lessons, wins, challenges, and little moments that have shaped this season of work.

For now, here’s a glimpse of what our summer has looked like. 💛

Still smiling about the Fourth of July festivities ❤️🤍💙

What a fun day celebrating with the Temple Terrace community!
From cheering along the parade route to enjoying live music by and ending the night with the perfect fireworks finale, It was one of those days that reminds you just how special the Temple Terrace community is.

We loved getting to chat with so many of you about your vision for Temple Terrace’s future too… because what could be more patriotic than helping shape the place you call home? 🇺🇸✨

Huge thank you to and everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes to make this celebration happen.

💚 This is what it looks like when neighbors come together!

Thank you to every resident, business owner, community partner, volunteer, artist, sponsor, City staff member, elected official, and neighbor who joined us for the Temple Terrace Community Open House.

Over the course of the evening, we shared ideas, made new connections, enjoyed delicious local food and celebrated what makes Temple Terrace special.

Together, we took another step toward building a community vision that truly reflects the people who call this place home.
