Most contractors lose the job long before the homeowner says “no.”

It’s not about the price.
It’s not about the competition.
It’s about what happens after the estimate is sent.

Without a clear follow-up plan, even the best quote can get buried under a busy homeowner’s to-do list.

That’s why I created Built to Close — to help home service pros turn more of their quotes into signed jobs with a simple, repeatable sales process.

I’ve sat at over 5,000 kitchen tables selling windows, doors, roofing, and gutters. Using my modernized version of Dave Yoho’s 10-step one-call close system, I’ve helped contractors turn “we’ll think about it” into “when can you start?”

If you own or run a small to mid-sized home service business and want:
• A stronger follow-up process
• More confident closing conversations
• Fewer jobs lost to indecision

I’m offering a free sales process audit this week.
We’ll walk through your current system and I’ll give you 2–3 actionable ways to close more jobs right away.

Far too many contractors are losing out on deals they should be winning. It’s not always about pricing or competition. Most of the time, it’s because they’re not asking the right questions during the sales appointment.

This is one of the biggest gaps I see working with contractors every day.

To help fix that, I put together a free one-page PDF you can start using right away. It’s a Discovery Question Survey Sheet with key questions to guide your in-home sales conversations and uncover what really matters to your prospects.

This tool helps you build trust, show professionalism, and increase your close rate.

You can download it here:

Florida homeowners are feeling the pressure. Skyrocketing insurance premiums, limited carriers, and strict coverage requirements are changing the game.

If you own a home here, you know how quickly insurance rates have jumped. With many insurers pulling out of Florida, maintaining your policy is no longer just about paying the premium. It’s about protecting your eligibility.

Here’s the reality:
Insurance carriers are closely inspecting roofs, windows, and other key systems. Homes that are outdated or poorly maintained are becoming either uninsurable or extremely expensive to insure.

That’s why keeping up with home improvements is more than just about comfort or appearance. It’s a smart financial move.

Now let’s talk strategy.

Using a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit) to fund upgrades or even cover your insurance payments can make more sense than paying out of pocket. In many cases, interest paid on a HELOC used for property improvements is tax-deductible. That can also include payments that go toward rising insurance costs if tied to property improvements.

Instead of pulling from savings to pay inflated insurance bills, consider how you can:
- Upgrade your property to stay insurable
- Potentially qualify for better coverage or discounts
- Preserve cash flow while improving your home’s value
- Write off the interest as a tax benefit

Owning a home in Florida today requires a plan. If you want to talk about how to approach home improvement and insurance strategically, feel free to reach out.

“I need to think about it.”

That’s one of the most common objections in sales. And if you don’t know how to handle it properly, it becomes the perfect way for a buyer to disappear without ever saying no.

Here’s the truth: most of the time, “I need to think about it” is not about thinking. It’s about uncertainty. Uncertainty about the price. Uncertainty about the value. Uncertainty about you.

Instead of pushing harder, try this:

“I totally understand. Before I go, you told me this was the right product for you and that you would trust me/my company to do a good job for you. Is the issues the down payment, the monthly payment, or the overall cost?”

Always bring it back something that’s within your control; price. If it’s not any of the 3 mentioned above then this question respectfully opens the door for clarity. It invites the buyer to share their real concern. And once you know that, you can actually do something about it.

Sales isn’t about pressure. It’s about clarity and confidence.

If you’re in home services and tired of hearing “let me think about it,” let’s talk. I help contractors and home service pros close with confidence and consistency.

Sales Tip of the Day: The faster you follow up after an estimate, the more likely you are to win the job.

Even a simple message saying “Thanks for having me out today” makes a big difference.

👋 Hi, I’m Dylon Faragure, founder of Built to Close and a sales coach for home service professionals who want to win more jobs without the old-school pressure tactics.

Over the last decade, I’ve sat at over 5,000 kitchen tables helping homeowners make confident decisions on windows, doors, roofing, and gutters. I’ve worked the leads, handled the objections, and signed the deals, all face-to-face.

My approach is built on a modernized version of Dave Yoho’s classic 10-step one-call close system — adapted for today’s buyers, who are more informed (and more skeptical) than ever. I teach contractors how to use structured, ethical, and high-converting sales processes that feel like a conversation, not a pitch.

Now, I help small to mid-sized home service businesses turn overwhelmed sales efforts into predictable, professional systems — through 1:1 coaching, team workshops, and sales process audits.

If you’re great at your trade but tired of hearing “let me think about it,” I’m here to help you get Built to Close.
