A policy cannot accommodate anyone.
A policy can define a commitment. Managers, systems, and daily practices determine whether employees can actually experience it.
Even a well-written accommodation policy may fail when managers do not understand:
• How employees initiate a request
• Which questions are appropriate
• When human resources should become involved
• How confidentiality must be protected
• How agreed adjustments are implemented
• What to do when work conditions change
• How retaliation and stigma are prevented
During ADHD Awareness Month, organizations should examine the distance between offering accommodations on paper and delivering them consistently in practice.
Goshen 360 helps leaders connect policy, manager capability, employee experience, workflow design, documentation, compliance, and accountability.
The goal is not for managers to diagnose employees or make legal decisions independently. It is to ensure they recognize their responsibility, follow the proper process, and lead with respect.
Commitment becomes credible through implementation.
