One of the most encouraging things we've seen this year is the number of adults reaching out for help with their education.

More people than ever are taking the brave step of coming back to learn to read and write, earn their GED, and build new opportunities for themselves and their families.

As our programs continue to grow, we're looking for a few additional volunteers to join our tutoring team.

Our greatest need is for volunteers who can help adult learners with foundational reading skills and phonics. We are also looking for volunteers who can support students working toward their GED through our online learning platforms.

You do not need to be a teacher. We provide training, materials, and ongoing support. All you need is patience, encouragement, and a desire to help someone reach their goals.

A few hours each week can make a lasting difference in someone's life.

The Libby app team is saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

Dolly was a beloved artist and cultural icon, but perhaps just as importantly, she was a lifelong champion of literacy and the belief that everyone deserves access to books. Through the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, she helped put books into the hands of children in communities across the globe and inspired generations of young readers to discover the joy of reading.

Today, we’re taking a quiet moment to read in Dolly’s memory and to celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind.

Hey everyone! Devin here.

You may have noticed some drop in posts and a decrease in meetings for the rest of the year. It’s just me running SBC TXK and I’ve been working really hard to get masters degree along with working a full time job. I graduate in SIX WEEKS!!! But I’m still keeping meetings to every third Thursday for the rest of the year.

Now, on to the fun stuff. Next year, I have some amazing things planned for SBC TXK. Bi-weekly meetings are coming back, side quests are getting planned, and we’re looking at a few bigger community events as well 👀👀

As always, thanks so much for your support and patience. I can’t wait to see everyone at our next meet up and I’m looking forward to the fun next year. 🥳
