Did you know, that:
• Google algorithm has changed and it will affect your site.
• The need to have a responsive site is more important than ever.
• Almost everybody today owns a smart phone or tablet. More and more people are doing business by means of a smart device.
• Your website is your store and it needs to be as organized and clean as a physical store. How would you present your products or services in an actual location?
• Your website speaks to those browsing it, what is it saying? Do you know?
• A website needs to be engaging, is yours? Or are you losing the customer right at the front door?
• Are you putting enough thought on your website? Do you consider it important? If not, you are missing on a huge market, even if you are targeting a small local area, you are missing on potential clients.
Statistically a person surfing the web spends but a few seconds on the front page of any website, this is the equivalent of browsing store windows. If the display is engaging they take the next step and walk into the store. The same applies to your website, the prospective customer is one click away from going to a different site unless they find something that peaks their interest. Smart devices make this even more of a necessity, if the site is not responsive, attractive and conveys the information right away your potential client will be gone. No one wants to pinch and re-size the screen for every single page, it is cumbersome and unreadable.
First impressions do count. Before the person browsing your site reads the first word, they see the design and layout of the page. If what they see does not appeal to them, then the message will not get to them as there is a very good chance they may never read a single paragraph and move on to a different site.
Websites are an extension of your business, a very big extension in current times. Like physical locations the look of the store, the organization, the cleanliness, etc. speak about your business. What is your website saying? Do you know?
When creating a website it is important that you select someone that will ask himself or herself all of these questions as part of the design process. Look at their site, does it look professional? Is it up to date with the current requirements? For example displaying properly on all devices. Does the design company’s website look like they care about their business, or is it just a quick template that they haven’t designed themselves. This is actually fairly easy to tell. If the page does not look unique, there is a good chance that they did not design it themselves and therefore they may use a template when designing yours. Don’t make the mistake of focusing on price only when selecting a design firm. Like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. If your budget does not allow for a design that has all the features that you want, do only those that you need. Then add more at a later day. Selecting the proper designer is crucial and a wise investment.
