I wrote about how I use AI over on Substack --here's an excerpt in case you're curious:
"There are hundreds of thousands (millions? billions?) of us around the world who spent 8+ hours a day, 40+ hours a week, for months (years!), feeding our intellectual energy into the LLMs we all now rely on. After it stole our (collective) works on the world wide web and called the theft "training data," we “experts” taught it literature, lepidoptery, languages, syntax, poetry, philosophy, reasoning, mathematics, and military strategy ... .but the machine is still a machine.
It is still a product of human creativity, bias, and stereotypes. And to outsource our logic and reasoning to a machine—the metaphorical equivalent of a toddler running with the scissors she’s just now learned to use— is to confuse the situation and to praise the toddler for their acumen in scissors-use rather than address the implicit danger of running with scissors in the first place.
For those of us that witnessed (read: co-created) the danger of said metaphorical scissors-armed toddler, there is a queasy sense of unease at the ease in which this medium has permeated our existence –online and off.
There are serious consequences to outsourcing your judgment. Ask any cult survivor. Yet, as a human species, it seems we are all-too-eager to let the outsourcing begin (The light of that last sentence shines on me, too: I am in the spotlight with you).
This medium is a form of mind control, in the literal sense: we are slowly altering our own cognitive patterns — our capacity for deep cognition, our morality, our sense of acceptable use, our tolerance for certain social norms. The Overton window is shifting fast, inside an entirely new, engaging, and evolving medium — one controlled by people who don’t have most of humanity’s best interest in mind."

P.S. I believe AI has ethical use-cases. It's a medium, not a mind. But/And: thinking is for the humans. Let's keep thinking.
