Hey 🐝s!

I’m building a giant pumpkin for Tomball. 🎃

It’s part of Sarah Boyd’s bigger idea to turn Tomball into a little Halloween Town, and I thought… “why not make the pumpkin? and that in itself be the community project?”

I’m collecting plastic grocery bags. They’ll become the body of the pumpkin, then we’ll paper mâché over it and turn it into something people can actually gather around. Take pictures. Add novelty to our Town.

If you have bags piling up, I’ll take them.
If you have materials, tools, ideas, or just want to come help build it — come on, let’s go.

I can pick up bags curbside, or we can figure out a drop-off spot.

It’s getting built either way. I just think it’d be more fun if the Tomball Pumpkin was built by Tomballions, not just me.

Hey 🐝s Good afternoon!

One of our own, Adan Villanueva is exhibiting at Montgomery’s Lone Star Art Gallery on Saturday, September 26!

If you’ve been following Vee Hive from the beginning, you know Adan was part of Day 1. So this feels pretty special to get to watch him and his work continue making its way into new and bigger spaces.

There will be several artists exhibiting, and the show will be judged, so come check out the work, meet some artists, and give Adan a little extra love while you’re there.

A little Mimi’s Internet Café + Marketplace update 🐝s

I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes, getting to know local makers, artists, bakers, and small businesses who could make something like this really special.

There are still a few pieces on the business and space side that have to be worked out between Mimi and her Landlord before I can say exactly what this will look like, where it’ll land, or when it’ll happen. Some of that is simply outside of my hands, so I’d rather be transparent than get ahead of myself and promise something before it’s concrete.

That said, the interest has been incredibly encouraging.

To everyone who has reached out: I see you, I have you on my radar, and I haven’t forgotten about you. Always keeping you in mind for other opportunities to see you all grow as well.

More when there’s actually more to tell.

Hey 🐝s, good afternoon,

I just want to take a moment to say how grateful I am for all of the creatives who have reached out and shared their businesses with us.

It has genuinely been such a joy reading about what everyone creates, the stories behind your work, and the dreams you’re building right here in Tomball.

There is so much creativity in this community, and I’m incredibly excited to be working alongside Mimi to explore what the next steps could look like.

I’ll be continuing to work with Mimi behind the scenes as we go through everything, and we’re both looking forward to what’s ahead.

And while you’re here—go check out Mimi’s Ethiopian restaurant and say hello to the woman making it all happen. 🤎

THE HIVE IS OPEN FOR ARTIST AND MAKERS FOR NEW INTERNET CAFE IN DOWNTOWN TOMBALL!!!

We’re brewing up GREAT things in the Heart of our Town.

We’re opening Mimi’s Internet Café + Marketplace, a new space on the corner of W Main + S Elm where coffee, creativity, community, and small businesses can live under one roof.

We’re currently looking for the right people to help bring it to life:

☕ A coffee anchor partner — our biggest need. We’re looking for an experienced coffee maker or coffee business interested in becoming a central part of the café and helping shape our daily coffee program.

🥐 Baked goods + treats — pastries, specialty sweets, and other grab-and-go offerings.
*Spots are filling fast*

🛍️ Retail + makers — artists, vintage curators, booksellers, plant people, handmade goods, gifts, and other small businesses with something special to bring to the space.

Some partnerships are already in motion, and now we’re looking to fill in the rest of the picture.
