Is it more difficult to organize a small home? Yes, I believe it is.

Lack of storage space can be a real problem when trying to minimize clutter. Especially with little ones running about!

Here are five helpful organizing tips for mamas with small children who live in homes with limited storage:

1. Maximize Vertical Space: Utilizing wall space can free up valuable floor space and keep items out of reach of curious little ones.

2. Multi-Functional Furniture: Invest in furniture pieces that serve multiple purposes.

3. Toy Rotation: Be sure to rotate toys frequently. You can create a schedule (monthly, quarterly, etc.) or whenever you feel there’s a need to.

4. Declutter Regularly: Pull items frequently that are no longer being used. This includes toys, clothing, crafting, etc.

5. Label Everything: Adding labels to bins, drawers, and containers will help tremendously with ease of navigation.

These tips will not only help keep your cozy space organized but also create a more functional and enjoyable space for the whole family.

What area do you have the hardest time organizing or keeping organized?

6 years ago I started on my own organizing journey. My oldest was about 1 and I couldn’t seem to find a system that was efficient for the space we were in.

I had always enjoyed maintaining an organized space but doing it with a toddler was so different. 😬

Then I watched Tidying Up with and I learned that I was going about it all wrong.

So I reset my own home and through a little trial and error I was able to maximize space so that it was functioning seamlessly for my family.

My approach is to work with my clients in determining what is the most realistic for them to maintain on their own. My goal is always that I see the relief wash over my client before I leave their home. 🏡
