Unexpected blessing!

My evening constitutional turned into an evening blessing. I discovered that the goats I walk past every day had twins. Oh my, they are adorable. I congratulated the mama and then the papa wanted some love.

It is finished. This has taken a lot of sweat, some tears, and challenged my marriage (love you, Mr. Wonderful)! Our neighbor offered us a trailer of pea gravel so we added another weekend to the project. We still need to anchor it, but structurally, it is done.

Sometimes “Enough” is a boundary we have to give ourselves.

Not because we’re weak.
Not because we can’t handle more.
But because more isn’t always aligned.

I used to say to my kids, “Enough is enough. Any more is too much.” It was usually said with my best mom look when the energy in the room had crossed the line.

Lately, I’ve realized I need to say it to myself.

Enough emails for today.
Enough overthinking.
Enough trying to optimize something that doesn’t need improvement.

There’s a quiet strength in deciding that this is sufficient. That this effort is honest. That this season doesn’t require more.

Sometimes the boundary isn’t about keeping others out.
It’s about keeping pressure from creeping in.

I shared more about this reflection in my recent Aligned newsletter. If you’d like to receive these fortnightly Saturday morning notes, you can sign up here: https://olindaservices.com/aligned

This time of year often nudges us to add more—more commitments, more expectations, more pressure to keep everything moving.

But sometimes alignment begins the other way around.

Letting go of what no longer fits isn’t giving up. It’s paying attention. It’s choosing to stop carrying things that drain energy, so there’s room for what actually matters in this season.

Subtraction doesn’t have to be dramatic or permanent. It can be as simple as loosening your grip and asking, *Does this still belong here?*

I shared a longer reflection on this idea in the **Aligned newsletter**, for anyone who’s feeling stretched and ready for a little more clarity without forcing change.

January has a way of making progress feel loud and polished—clear goals, tidy plans, visible momentum.

But real progress doesn’t always look like that.

Sometimes it looks unfinished.
Paused.
Messy.
Still taking shape.

And that doesn’t mean it isn’t meaningful.

One of the quiet lessons I keep coming back to is this: honoring your pace isn’t quitting—it’s alignment. Growth can happen even when things don’t look complete or Instagram-ready.

I shared a longer reflection on this in a recent Aligned newsletter, especially for anyone who feels behind or unsure whether what they’re doing “counts.”

You’re welcome to read along if it would be supportive. https://olindaservices.com/aligned/

This season of life has reminded me that progress doesn’t always come from pushing harder — sometimes it comes from getting clearer.

That’s the spirit behind Aligned, my fortnightly newsletter for leaders, caregivers, and professionals who want to reclaim energy, refocus, and lead with intention.

One thoughtful email every other week.
No hustle. No overwhelm.

As we stand on the edge of the New Year, I’ve been sitting with one word that keeps returning: Simplify.

Not as a rule.
Not as a resolution.
But as a lens.

This past year reminded me that when life feels heavy, the answer isn’t usually to push harder—it’s to get clearer. To notice what matters in this season and gently release what doesn’t.

Simplify, for me, isn’t about stripping life down to nothing. It’s about making room for what supports health, clarity, and meaningful connection.

If you’re heading into the New Year feeling the pull to do less but live more aligned, you’re not alone.

I shared more about this reflection in the latest Aligned newsletter.

“Alignment begins when we stop pushing.”

That line stayed with me as I was writing the latest Aligned newsletter.

As we move toward the end of the year, I’m noticing how easy it is to equate momentum with pressure—and growth with force. But increasingly, I’m learning that alignment doesn’t come from trying harder. It comes from paying attention. From easing off. From making room to breathe.

This season has been an invitation to ask a gentler question:

What happens when we stop pushing and start listening?

If this reflection resonates, I shared more in this week’s Aligned newsletter.
