In Mark 4, Jesus told His disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”

They got in the boat, but somewhere between where they started and where they were going, the storm came.The disciples weren’t afraid because they had no destination. They were afraid because they were in the middle.

And the middle is where so many of us find ourselves.

The middle of a diagnosis… of a hospital room.
The middle of hospice conversations… of waiting for a phone call.The middle of loving someone through something we cannot fix.

The middle stretches us.It tests our faith.
It reveals what we cling to.It shapes parts of us we never knew existed.

And maybe the hardest part of the middle is that there is no object, no possession, no perfect words that can make it all disappear.

But there is one thing that changes the weight of the journey:Knowing we are not alone.Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer someone is not an answer.

It is our presence.A hand held.
A prayer whispered.A reminder that even in the storm, even in the waiting, even in the middle…

God is still there.

You are not forgotten.You are not unseen.
You are not walking this alone.
