Happy International Dance Day! I wanted to let all of my dancer friends and the young dancers out there know that as long as you let yourself dance, you will be a dancer. Sometimes things in life may bring a hiatus in your dance “career”, but I encourage you to persevere and never stop moving. There is so much out there in the world to experience. My 20+ years dancing have brought me so many opportunities and I continue to seek it out no matter where life takes me. I have been compiling documentation of my performances for my cv these last few days and it brings me so much gratitude to reflect back on what ballet and dance has brought me in life. If I could tell my teenage ballerina self one thing, it would be to step back and live every moment to the fullest and perform wildly with all your heart. The drama of studio life is unimportant, and what is important is the love you have for yourself, your body and all it is able to do. I can’t wait to photograph more dancers in the future and continue dancing and performing! Here are two more photos from my self portrait session. 👯♀️💃💗 @ California State University, Monterey Bay
