This Tyesday we welcome Kyle Hunter aka

Kyle Hunter is a business leader, speaker, author, and community advocate from Iowa whose life story is a powerful testimony of redemption, perseverance, and transformation. Professionally, Kyle built an elite career in the automotive industry, becoming a top 1% BMW salesperson nationally and holding the #1 sales position at a multi-franchise dealership for nearly two years. Today, he serves as the General Manager of a European specialty dealership in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Beyond business, Kyle is deeply involved in his community. He serves on multiple ministry and nonprofit boards, including a treatment center board, and currently serves on his local city council. He is passionate about mentorship, recovery, leadership, and helping people find purpose beyond their past.

Kyle is also the author of the #1 best-selling book Killing Kyle Orth, a raw and honest account of his journey through addiction, crime, prison, faith, and personal transformation. His story is now being adapted into a feature documentary film expected to release in late summer.

Whether speaking about leadership, recovery, faith, business, or resilience, Kyle’s message is simple: no matter where you’ve been, your story is not over.

Thanks again for coming on Sobriety Spiritualty and Sales with transparency and Leadership. The show is brought to you by Michael Bader State Farm Agency 1st and River only on .media.

Sometimes things have to happen to solidify our foundation and really make us appreciate our recovery.

My goal was getting sober then I realized it was long term sobriety. That is so much harder. I had to build something worth living for or I would have relapsed again.

If you're ready to build something worth staying sober for, that's exactly what I do.

There's a version of you that already made this decision.
He's just waiting for you to catch up.
He's not louder than you. He's not better than you. He's just done pretending. He stopped negotiating with himself somewhere around the third or fourth time he said "this is the last one" and knew it wasn't.
You've met him before. Early mornings, usually. The drive home when it's quiet. That half second before you reach for it where something in you goes still and asks, honestly, how much longer.
That's him. That's not weakness talking. That's the realest part of you, and he's been patient.
Here's what nobody tells the man who looks fine on the outside. You don't have to hit bottom to be done. You don't need a disaster to give you permission. The successful guy, the provider, the one everyone counts on, gets to change too. Not because he's broken. Because he's tired of running two lives at once.
The decision isn't a cliff. It's a step. The man who already made it is standing right there.
Stop making him wait

Nothing is working out for me.
That's the sentence running underneath everything for a lot of successful men right now and they don't even hear it anymore.
The deal that fell through. The client who went cold. The quarter that should have been bigger. They look at it and they think the world handed them a bad month.
It didn't. They wrote that story. And then they went looking for proof.
Here's what nobody tells you. When you're in a low state, and drinking keeps you there longer than you want to admit, your brain does not see opportunity. It sees confirmation. It scans every interaction for evidence that nothing works, because that's the story it already decided was true.
You are not closing less because the market got harder. You are closing less because you walked into the room already believing it would go bad. People feel that. They buy from certainty and you handed them doubt.
Your attitude is not a side effect of your results. It comes first. It is the thing your results are built on top of.
And you cannot hold a good one while you keep feeding the thing that drags you down. The drink does not take the edge off. It takes the edge off you. It keeps you low enough that the story stays true.
If you want a different result, you have to stop protecting the things that keep producing the old one. The alcohol. The belief that nothing works. The version of you that needs both to feel normal.
That is the work. And it is available to you the second you stop calling it a bad month.
Full episode is in my bio. If you read this and felt seen, that feeling is the invitation.

Feeling extremely blessed and grateful this Memorial Day weekend.
Grateful for my recovery. Grateful for my relationship with a God of my understanding. Grateful for the beautiful people in my life.
If you have ever thought about what your life could look like without alcohol, let me tell you something. It's amazing on the other side.
To truly live life to the fullest. To soak in the present moment. That is a gift I do not take for granted.
The man you are trying to become is already in you. He is just waiting for you to put the drink down long enough to meet him.

Most guys who want to stop drinking are not afraid of quitting.
They are afraid of the wedding. The client dinner. The Sunday at the lake when everyone has a drink in their hand and they are the only one holding a water.
That fear kept me stuck for years.
Here is what nobody tells you. When the real work gets done on the inside, the room stops having power over you. You walk in. You shake hands. You actually hear what your buddy is saying instead of counting how many he is on and wondering when it is your turn.
You are not white-knuckling it. You are not performing sobriety. You are just there. Fully. Present. The most powerful man in the room and nobody can figure out why.
That is the version of you that is waiting on the other side of this.
Follow for more.

Most men think the answer is more discipline.
Wake up earlier. Push harder. Whiteknuckle through another quarter. Another deal. Another night where you promised yourself you wouldn't pour the glass and you poured it anyway.
Then they hit the wall and swing the other way. Surrender. Let go. Trust the process. And six months later they're more lost than when they started.
Flow lives in between. And here's what nobody tells you.
Both sides get easier when you put the drink down.
Discipline stops being a battle when your head is clear. Your focus comes back. Your intentions actually match what you do all day. You stop negotiating with yourself at 9pm about whether you earned it.
And surrender? That part takes care of itself. Because the second you start walking with God, you're already handing over your day, your results, your outcomes. You're not white knuckling anymore. You're not performing. You're moving.
That's flow.
It's not a hack. It's not a morning routine. It's what happens when the man you're becoming finally has nothing standing in his way.
