I met my medical oncologist today to discuss the results of my scans…essentially to answer the question of “has the cancer spread beyond my lymph nodes?”
The answer is it has not, so I don’t require chemotherapy but radiation is still necessary. That’s a huge win!! 🏆

However, when he pulled up the images on his monitor I was speechless.
SPEECHLESS! 👀
They couldn’t adjust the damn contrast?!?!! They couldn’t adjust the damn contrast?!??
Now I know I’m chubby but damn.😳
Ya’ll ever see chubby X-rays before?!??
I’m not paying full price for this.😳😬😂

I can’t sleep. It’s not a hard sell for me to believe there is evidence of otherworldly beings navigating, living and or hiding in the cosmos and oceans..seems perfectly logical to me.
I can wrap my head around that, we live in a vast universe.

What’s not logical is that as a woman, I am required, by law, to be obedient, and pay taxes into a system that then uses those dollars against me.

Somewhere, there is a room where men gather to decide that my daughter isn’t worthy of the same protections their sons have.
As women, we are not constitutionally protected. That’s wild!

What’s even MORRE bizarre than aliens, is that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has satisfied all requirements to amend the constitution, despite Congress giving an arbitrary deadline for ratification.
The ERA was introduced in the early twenties, adopted by Congress in 1972, and ratified in 2020, special thanks to Virginia. 

The take away for me is this. 
For over one hundred years, on many desks have sat a piece of paper with fancy words and legal jargon hoping, pleading, and soundly making a case as to why women deserve to be constitutionally protected.

That’s hard to believe.

My toxic trait? I’m down $63 buying books.
The paper kind. The kind with over 800 pages knowing damn well my ADHD brain won’t cooperate.
Just me?!?

That night stand is my nemesis. It’s full of good intentions. I look at them every time I get into bed and I tell myself I’m going to read. Just look at all of those books.
Some I’ve gotten two pages in, some not at all. I want to learn so many things. Finance. How to be brave. How to not care about what you think about me. Gentle wisdom. The food we grow and eat. How to master life. How waking up at 5 AM will change my life, I believe it will. Radical self acceptance from a Buddhists perspective.

The Bluest Eye, Toni Morrison. My daughter gifted this book to me a year ago. I haven’t cracked the spine.

Hitchhiker update:
Dewey has named him Waylon. As in Willie Nelson’s bestie, Waylon Jennings.
Dewey has also handcrafted a paracord collar with matching leash.

Meanwhile, his bestie Willie Nelson is literally sticking his tounge out and refuses to acknowledge the situation.

A reminder to myself that I’m still creative.
I’ve wanted to learn silversmithing for 20 years, but I didn’t have the confidence to dive in. This ring is definitely not perfect, but I am excited to make and learn! I’ll post more pictures as I create more pieces. Stay tuned!
