Tarana's wireless technology? Yeah...it's kind of a big deal.
It's the key behind us offering fiber-speed wireless internet.
Wireless internet technology has always connected people who previously didn't have access to the internet. For nine years, we've connected families across the region with internet that allows them to stream TV, check their email, and do all the other good things we use the internet for.
But Tarana technology is a game-changer.
Its wireless performance is unmatched. Instead of 25 Mbps, your speeds can reach up to 250 Mbps or more - fast enough to do almost anything you can think of.
Tarana filters out interference. There are a lot of radio signals moving through the air, which can occasionally cause connection issues. But Tarana's technology is built to handle that.
Under the right circumstances, Tarana can even send internet to your house around barriers using Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) technology. So if there's a tree between our tower and your house, there's still a chance we might be able to connect you.
(Should we have said it allows our towers to "phone home" even if there's a tree in the way? Maybe that was a missed opportunity.)
The point is, this leap in technology has been huge for our customers. It's not cheap, but it allows our communities to access fiber-speed internet no matter how far from town they live.
