Picture this:
You walk into a dimly lit jazz lounge.
On the tiny stage, in the back, is Beyoncé…
singing backup for a local band no one’s ever heard of.
You do a double take.
“Wait… what on Earth are you doing?! You’re BEYONCÉ!”
She wipes sweat from her brow, shrugs:
“Hey, gigs are gigs. Gotta keep the lights on.”
You’d feel your brain short-circuit.
“You’re not meant to hide behind someone else’s mic stand.
You’re supposed to own the whole stage!”
Sounds ridiculous, right?
Yet that’s what most of us do every day.
We wake up, clock in, do what’s “safe.”
We forget the part of us that came here to build, create, shine, lead.
We shrink so we won’t fail.
We play small so we won’t stand out.
And we call it being “realistic.”
But here’s the truth:
You are not here just to get by.
You are here to create.
To make something so breathtakingly you that the world can’t help but notice.
The story you tell yourself?
That’s the script your life follows.
But guess what?
You’re the writer, the director, and the star.
Change the words.
Flip the plot twist.
Step into your real role.
Don’t wait for someone else to see your greatness.
See it first.
Then live like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
That’s your power.
Use it.
