🌟 BRIM Featured Speaker Spotlight 🌟

This week we learned from Jeremy Nelson of Galaxy Softwash, who gave us an inside look at the science (and care!) behind professional exterior cleaning. 🧼✨

Jeremy walked us through the proper applications for cleaning roofs, siding, driveways, and parking lots—and why details matter:

⚠️ Avoiding oxidation
🎨 Knowing when organic paints are involved
🌱 Protecting plants and landscaping

He also shared the importance of prep work, like watering surrounding plants and diluting solutions so that flower beds and grass stay protected during the cleaning process.

Today we had the pleasure of hearing from our guest speaker- Brian Brandt from Core Insights.

Brian specializes in several areas of self development and business. But today he spoke specifically on how people can (and should) become well-rounded networking individuals when collaborating with others.

He thoroughly explained what one should do before, during, and after networking with new and familiar individuals. His insight brought an innovative approach that made for a greater understanding of why business owners should networking more seriously, while still having a great time.

What is the nature of your business?

I provide therapeutic massage services to clients for relaxation, stress reduction, pain relief, and overall wellness. It involves manipulating soft tissues and joints to improve circulation, mobility, and alleviate muscle tension.

What's your favorite part about your industry?

I have the opportunity to help people alleviate pain and stress, and seeing the results of my work on clients.

What's your favorite part about your clients?

Personal Connections. It is rewarding having the ability to connect with clients on a personal level!

What all are you certified in?

I am certified in Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stones and Cupping. I am currently working on Prenatal and Lymphatic!

What is your favorite praise story from a client?

One of my clients had severe carpal tunnel and was in the process of being scheduled for surgery. With weekly sessions of muscle stripping she canceled the surgery and is now back to monthly sessions with minimal discomfort from carpal tunnel.

What inspires you?

My family! They were with me through the whole process of school and internship. And they are cheering me on as I gain more experience and specialties.

Yesterday we heard from the one and only- Your Friendly Neighborhood Insurance Man!

🔸How or why did you get into insurance?
🔹Honestly I fell into the insurance industry. I left Dallas to move to East Texas with my girlfriend, and was looking at transitioning into a sales role. Never done sales before but I had friends who were in it and enjoyed what they did. At the same time, I still wanted to help people. So really I was hoping to land something in pharmaceutical or equipment sales. God had a different plan and put the opportunity of insurance sales right in front of me.

🔸What's your favorite part about your industry?
🔹I love hearing from my clients how thankful they are to have saved money or how their dire medical situation all worked out because their insurance plan took great care of their medical claims. When someone calls me up and they say they’ve been desperately looking for something affordable and feel like giving up because they haven’t found it and I surprise them with savings beyond what they though was possible, that feels good.

🔸What's your favorite part about your clients?
🔹That they’re not all the same. They come from all industries and walks of life. I love that I can help each of them equally. Doesn’t matter if they don’t make a lot of money, or if they’re just in between jobs, haven’t had coverage in a while or recently lost it, they can all be helped.

🔸What is the one inclusion every policy holder should have?
🔹Out of pocket maximum. If you’re not sure what that is, it’s simple. It’s the most you’ll have to spend in a calendar year to be covered 100% for medical bills. You’d like to think, all insurance has that or they “told me I’d be covered”, in reality there are so many plans out that don’t have that in the policy, and unfortunately for a lot of folks that find this out after a major claim. If you don’t know if your plan has this, we should talk!

🔸What is the biggest savings you remember doing for a client? (Estimated)
🔹It was over $2600/month… I was dumbfounded when they told me they were paying over $4000/month for an employer sponsored BCBS plan.

🔸What inspires you?
🔹I get up every day, wanting to make my mark on this world, specifically leave behind a legacy of people who are changing the world for the better. I want to be remembered not for just selling a lot of insurance policies, but impacting my clients for the better, building successful careers for my agents so their families lives would be changed, and the community I built my business in to thrive. Might seem cliche or cheesy, but I want people to see my YFNIM brand and the first thing they think, is they do good things for us here in East Texas, oh and they help us save money and get better health insurance.

🔹I’m there for the relationships. I love having a group of people who I know intimately, that I trust, and who also do amazing work in their respected industries. They are individuals that I can count on every time to help me, my friends, my family and my clients with their needs.

🔹Why did you get into insurance?

When Covid happened and the restaurant industry suffered, I went from a 40 hr work week to 65+ hrs. My time with family suffered. I approached Collin with the opportunity to join his team, and the flexible schedule meant more to me than any salary.

🔹What's your favorite part about your industry?

Similar to being in the restaurant industry, I get the opportunity to speak to people of all types, and figuring out their needs for coverages.

🔹What's your favorite part about your clients?

The different personalities I get to interact with. It keeps me on my toes and pushes me to adapt to each and every conversation.

🔹What is the one inclusion every policy holder should have? (In auto, home, etc)

Replacement cost, maximum liability coverage, and the lowest deductibles available.

🔹Why do you work for the Phaup agency?

I had known Collin for a few years before working in his agency. It made it an easy transition to the industry having someone I have known being my mentor.

🔹What is your biggest inspiration?

Providing for my family and having the flexibility to spend time with them.
