Question of the day:
If you are the personal representative for a loved one, do you know where the Estate Documents are stored and how will they access them once the time comes? ⏳

If not, it is time to have a conversation with them about how you will locate them without having to go through every bin, box, bag, closet, the attic, basement, garage and let's not forget the storage units! 🗣️

Oh, and BTW, I have found estate paperwork in all these locations in my 25 years in business. 🔎

Life has a way of reminding us we're not invincible. 💙

In just the past year, I've watched friends and family navigate emergency rooms, strokes, serious illnesses, and unexpected crises. Each time, I've seen how having important documents organized, or not having them, can make all the difference.

Remember when life's paperwork was simple? Birth certificates, diplomas, maybe a marriage license in a drawer somewhere. But as we grow, so does the complexity: mortgages, insurance policies, medical records, Powers of Attorney, investment accounts, digital passwords scattered across dozens of platforms.

Here's what I've learned: organizing these details isn't about being pessimistic. It's about love. It's about making sure that when life throws a curve ball, the people who care about us can actually help us, without frantically searching through drawers and email accounts when time is critical.

If you're thinking about this right now, that's the first step. You don't have to do everything at once. Start small. Start today. Create a system while you have the clarity and energy to do it.

Your future self, and everyone who loves you, will be so grateful you did. ✨

What's one document or detail you've been meaning to organize? Drop it in the comments, maybe we can encourage each other to finally get it done! 👇

Need help, or inspiration? Join me on January 28th at 1 PM Eastern Time for a complimentary webinar hosted by Trustworthy Founder & CEO Nat Robinson, and Ellen Goodwin, Product Lead from Trustworthy as we discuss the Documenting Your Digital Estate. Registration Link is in the comments below.

Quick tip:
Did you enroll in a new health insurance plan for 2026? When the new card arrives, add the information to your emergency file and remove the outdated card. Be sure to securely save the information on both sides of the card. The contact details for the plan are often on the back of the card. Having this information saved will confusion later if you forget, misplace, or lose the physical card.

I often tell potential clients: 'Get Organized and Find Money.' Your loyalty points programs are a great place to 'Find Money.' When was the last time you checked your loyalty points programs, airline, or hotel points programs? Do you know if you have points that are about to expire?

Whether you're planning travel, looking to use the points to put towards your account balance, or setting up family sharing for your points, now is a great time to take a look. Some hotel loyalty programs offer a free night each year on the anniversary of your joining or signing up for their card, but it's only valid for that year.

Eight More Visits: Making the Most of the Time (and Stories) We Have Left

Register now for the FREE Webinar on Zoom 6 PM Eastern with the link below and we will send you the details for joining.

This free session will help you:

Reconnect with your “why” – Why do you want to preserve your family stories? For your children? Grandchildren? Yourself?

See storytelling as part of your legacy plan – Beyond wills, inventories, and critical documents, your stories are what will help your loved ones truly know you.

Recognize this season as a unique opportunity – Family gatherings, phone calls, and quiet visits become perfect moments to ask meaningful questions and really listen.

You don’t need to be a “writer” or a “good storyteller” to benefit. You just need a willingness to remember, to ask, and to care.

I have lovely memories here, do you?

We always think there will be more time, but too often time runs out before the stories are told and the memories are shared. This season is a great time to start.

As an Occupational Therapist and Professional Organizer with years of experience in home care and hospice settings, I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact that storytelling has on our journey of discovery, healing, and connection.
