This winter has placed unusual stress on many of our church buildings. Extreme cold, wind, and ice can quietly affect historic stained glass — loosening perimeter glazing, opening small fractures, and stressing aging lead cames.

Many issues are not visible from the pews.

Faithful stewardship includes caring for the sacred elements entrusted to us by previous generations. Periodic inspection is not simply maintenance — it is preservation of ministry, heritage, and the message told through light.

Epiphany Studios is proud to share our recent work at the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City, Maryland.

As part of the church’s major renovation and transformation of its spiritual environment, we were honored to restore and adapt a collection of historic Munich Mayer stained-glass windows originally acquired from a closed church in Baltimore.

Our team carefully removed the windows, restored their intricate painted details, and modified the rectangular panels into arched compositions to complement the sanctuary’s new architectural design.

In addition, Epiphany Studios collaborated with Khaisman Studio on a commissioned Holy Spirit window. Designer Mark Khaisman developed the concept, and our team completed the fabrication with custom modifications to suit the space.

This multi-year project has been a true labor of love, and we are grateful to the Church of the Resurrection for entrusting us with such meaningful work.

I thank all the artisans and all the field technicians that brought this vision to reality

We're thrilled to share a sneak peek into one of our ongoing projects with Front Royal UMC! After being in storage for over a decade, we've repurposed their 5-foot stained glass sections from 12-foot doors into stunning round windows.

Instead of being tucked away, these masterpieces will now grace the church, ensuring they're appreciated and admired by all. Stay tuned for more updates on this incredible transformation!
