Casper shows up for each other… At the rodeo, at the balloon launch, at Pride, and in the parade.
That's what neighbors do. 💙

I couldn't help but notice how many people are angry with the news from the Attorney General's office. So, as usual, I’ve been doing some thinking…

I wrote about the shift to Schedule 3 back in December. “Cannabis prohibition was never just about a plant” I claimed. I still stand by that analysis.

But, if you are wondering why state-level reform is so hard, this is why:

"BE IT RESOLVED that the Wyoming Republican Party stands against the legalization and decriminalization of medical and recreational ma*****na (cannabis)."

That is their official party position.

If this subject matters to you, I'd love to hear your thoughts. And if you want to dig deeper into how we got here, the link to my full article is below.

How did fear become a tool of power? Explore the story of cannabis’s transformation from a common crop to a criminalized substance.

Rodeo season is officially here! 🤠
HUGE thanks to the Central Wyoming Fair & PRCA Rodeo and Visit Casper for a special evening! 🔥🐂

It’s events like these that remind me what makes Casper special; neighbors coming together to celebrate our Western way of life, watching the rodeo athletes compete, seeing families fill the stands, and hearing the excitement of the crowd ... that’s what my community looks like. 💙

Whether you're a lifelong Casper resident or just passing through, there's something about this week that brings us all together.

If you're see me at the fairgrounds this week, stop and say hey! 👋

And if you haven't been yet… what are you waiting for?

Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo Parade Route and Safety Information

Casper, Wyoming (June 24, 2026) – The Casper Police Department is releasing the official route map for the 2026 Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo Parade, scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 10:00am in downtown Casper.

The attached map identifies the parade route, staging areas, and public parking locations.
To prepare for the event, all vehicles must be removed from the parade route by 6:00am on July 7. Vehicles remaining on the route after that time may be towed.

A 5K run will begin at 9:00am, immediately preceding the parade. The parade is expected to conclude around 12:00pm, and streets will reopen on a rolling basis as participants clear the area.

"While the community sees a few hours of festivities on parade day, months of planning take place behind the scenes," said Traffic Sergeant Carl Krugler. "The Casper Police Department works closely with our public safety and community partners to coordinate traffic management, emergency response, and event security so residents and guests can enjoy a safe and successful parade."

Residents and visitors should plan ahead for traffic delays and road closures. Anyone who lives or works along the parade route is encouraged to make travel and parking arrangements in advance.

Safety Reminders
• Stay on sidewalks and out of the roadway.
• Keep children within sight at all times.
• Stay hydrated and prepare for summer temperatures.
• Follow all posted signs, traffic control devices, and officer directions.

For non-emergency concerns, call the Casper Police Department at 307-235-8278. In an emergency, call 911.

The Casper Police Department is proud to support this longstanding community tradition and wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo Parade.

Happy Independence Day, Casper!

A few months ago, the flag outside City Hall was torn and faded. It had been that way for months until I posted it. Vice Mayor Gamroth called it "another day, another gripe." Councilman McIntosh liked a comment calling me a crier. And when a citizen stepped up to replace the flag himself, the city told him no; offered collaboration, made promises, and then went silent. They expected the conversation to die.

But this is my land. And I expect my elected officials to look up.

This country has never been perfect. It stands for the idea that no one is above the law, that the vulnerable deserve protection, and that the powerful can be questioned. That idea does not defend itself. It requires neighbors who refuse to look away, even when they are called names for it… even when the city hopes they will just give up.

So today, look up. Notice the flag. Notice what is broken. Notice what is worth saving. And then ask yourself: are your elected officials looking up with you, or are they waiting for you to stop asking?

Neighbors first, always. 🇺🇸
