My first book, “How to Format a Children’s Book for Self-Publishing”, received the Silver Award in the Interior Design category from the Independent Book Publishers Association.

What an amazing experience to attend Publishing University, connect with so many talented publishing professionals, and continue learning more about this industry I love so much.

I’m heading to Portland this May for Publishing University 2026, https://www.publishinguniversity.org/ and this one feels extra special.

I’m honored to be a finalist in the IBPA Book Awards and will be attending the award banquet as part of the conference. To be recognized for the interior layout of my book means a lot—this is the part of book design where everything comes together for the reader.

And the timing couldn’t be better… we’re celebrating this book’s birthday next week. 🎉

Being a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association since 2020 has been such a valuable part of my journey. I’ve learned so much from their resources, their magazine, and the community they’ve built around doing publishing well.

I’m looking forward to being surrounded by people who truly care about quality books and the process behind them. If you’re going, I’d love to see you there!

We had the incredible opportunity to tour the Ingram Content Group print-on-demand facility—and it’s hard to put into words just how valuable that experience was.

Seeing the POD process firsthand gave us an even deeper understanding of what truly happens behind the scenes in book production. The level of precision, coordination, and technology required to print thousands of individual books—each with its own file, specs, and timing—is remarkable. It reinforced just how complex (and impressive) this process really is.

As book designers, we work in these systems every day—but being able to physically walk through the production environment changes your perspective. It sharpens how we think, how we prepare files, and ultimately how we serve our authors.

A heartfelt thank you to Mollie Bolden and Melissa Oakley for your incredible hospitality and for sharing your knowledge so generously. Your expertise and passion for this industry truly made the experience meaningful.

Grateful for the opportunity to see it all in action—and to bring that insight back to the authors we serve every day.

Excited to celebrate the release of Blue-Collar Boss by Mark Stoner!

This one is especially meaningful to me. I’ve had the privilege of working with Mark for over 10 years, and I’ve watched him grow his business and leadership every step of the way. This book is a direct reflection of that journey—real experience, real lessons, and a commitment to doing things right.

What I love most is how actionable this book is. Each chapter includes a leadership summary, prompts for videos to record, and three practical steps to take that week. It’s designed to be used, not just read.

We also built in space for Mark’s personal quotes throughout the book—highlighting the lessons he’s learned over the years. That required intentional design work, but it’s what transforms this into a true guide for growth.

What I love most is how actionable this book is. Each chapter includes a leadership summary, prompts for recording videos, and three practical steps to take that week. It’s designed to be used, not just read.

These beautiful illustrations throughout this book have been created by Olivia Chindamo, using Procreate Templates we created. Finding solutions to new technologies allowed us to meet the illustrators concerns from the very beginning of the project. The results are gorgeous with amazing depth and details! Well done - such amazing creativity talent!

Congratulations to new author, Kate Goldbas launches her first children’s book and original song at the Darien Library, in Darien, Connecticut and this project is a great example of what it really takes to bring a creative vision to life.
