Last week, my body gave me a pretty big wake-up call. 🙃

Between significant chest pain, a racing heart, and feeling more stressed than I have in a LONG time, I found myself taking a hard look at everything I’ve been trying to juggle lately.

And when I actually sat down and wrote it all out, I could see why I was feeling overwhelmed!

We’re putting the final touches on our annual team retreat happening this weekend, our only giveaway of the year goes live this Friday, and we just launched our NEW client membership program! 🎉

I’m also preparing for an out-of-state organizing project I’ll be managing next month, getting ready for an exciting networking event today, and we FINALLY began to see some momentum on our annual Service Project after months of subcontractor delays. 🙌🏼

And that’s all on top of our regular organizing projects, consultations, and day-to-day family life! 😅

The funny thing is, these are all things I’m genuinely excited about. Things I’ve worked hard for and WANT to be doing. But apparently, being excited about everything doesn’t mean I have unlimited capacity to do it all.

So I’ve been asking myself a question I often ask our clients when we’re organizing their homes...
“What actually needs my attention right now, and what can wait?”

I’ve found that sometimes we get so used to carrying everything that we forget we’re allowed to put a few things down. I’m still figuring out what that looks like for me this week, but I’m grateful for a team that continues to show up for our clients and create beautiful transformations even when my own plate feels a little too full. 🩵

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your clutter is exposing you. 👀

Within five minutes of walking into your house, I can tell a LOT about you...

→ That pile you keep moving from one spot to another? There’s probably a decision you don’t want to make.
→ The clothes you never wear but won’t get rid of? There’s probably a little guilt attached to those.
→ The endless supply of back stock? That might be a scarcity mindset creeping in.

The stuff we keep (and where we keep it) isn’t random. Our homes have a funny way of revealing what we’re avoiding, what we have a hard time letting go of, and which parts of our everyday routines just aren’t working anymore.

And after nine years of organizing homes, I’ve learned to pay attention to those clues.

So swipe through the 10 things I can probably tell about you from your clutter, and consider this your challenge:
Whichever one made you feel the most called out? Start there! 🙌🏼

We’ve officially entered the last quarter of the year, which means I can no longer pretend summer is coming back. 😭

This time of year, it’s completely normal for your closet to look a little confused. Sandals and sundresses are still hanging around while sweaters, rain jackets, and boots are slowly making their way back into the rotation.

So if your closet is currently holding onto two seasons at once, consider this your sign to do a fall closet swap!🧣🍂 But before you shove all of your summer clothes into a bin and promise yourself you’ll deal with them next year... DECLUTTER FIRST.

This is actually one of my favorite times of year to go through clothes because you just lived through the season - you don’t have to guess what you wore!

If you didn’t wear it, it doesn’t fit, or you already know you won’t be excited to pull it out again next spring, this is your chance to let it go. Donate what you’re ready to part with, then wash and completely dry everything you’re keeping before packing it into clearly labeled bins. Future you will be very grateful when spring rolls around again!

➡️ Swipe through to see some of the closets we organized in September, then tell me: have you made the fall closet swap yet, or is it still warm where you are?
