Your lawn can look green on top and still have a problem underneath.

Thatch is the layer of old grass stems, roots, and other organic material that builds up between the grass and the soil.

A little is normal, but when it gets too thick, it can make it harder for water, air, and nutrients to move down into the root zone.

Core aeration helps by pulling small plugs of soil from the lawn, opening up the soil and improving movement through the root zone.

It’s one of those lawn care steps you may not notice right away, but your grass can benefit from it over time.
