A clean PCR helps keep your prints clean. In the latest video of our Basics of Toner Cartridges series, we’re taking a closer look at the Primary Charge Roller (PCR) and the important role it plays inside a laser cartridge.

The PCR helps establish the proper electrical charge on the OPC drum, which is an essential part of the imaging process. But like many components inside a toner cartridge, cleanliness matters.

When a PCR becomes dirty or contaminated, it can interfere with the charging process and lead to streaks and other unwanted print defects across the page.

It may be a small component, but the PCR has an important job and keeping it clean can make a big difference in print quality.

Lexmark's latest firmware update? Static Control chips are unaffected. ✅

Lexmark released a new firmware update today, and it's known to disable aftermarket cartridges and chips from other suppliers.

Users are seeing this error:
"Unauthorized black toner cartridge. A non-genuine cartridge containing a non-Lexmark chip has been disabled by protective measures; 32.40E."

Good news: cartridges with Static Control replacement chips are not impacted. Your customers can keep printing without interruption. This applies to the following cartridge series:
56F | 55B | 58D | 78C | 66S | 71C | 75M

Colleagues from Static Control’s Poland warehouse participated in the 14th Bieg Firmowy corporate relay in Wrocław to support children requiring specialist medical treatment and rehabilitation. This Monday, May 25th, our U.S. offices will be closed in honor of Memorial Day, a day set aside to remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we are deeply grateful.
