How does a Navy Reserve Senior Chief end up on the Today Show and the Kelly Clarkson Show? Not through an agent. Through Instagram.

On Episode 9 of The Resilient Edge, host Dave Weiner talks with Carolina Hernandez, founder of Veteran Couture, about why she pushes back on the word "influencer." She says the point was never the follower count. It was putting veteran resources, benefits flyers, giveaways, in front of people who needed them and didn't know where to look.

She's had veterans message her to say a flyer she shared got them a free mattress. A fellow chief told her the same thing about a laptop. That's the return she cares about.

Secure Measures spent two days training the Las Cruces Fire Project LIGHT and Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) teams.

We covered the ROAR Crisis Stabilization model, giving responders a structured approach to de-escalating high-stakes calls.

Day 2 brought in partners Families & Youth Innovation Plus (FYI+) and La Clinica de Familia
to cover Understanding the Veteran Experience, Emotional Intelligence, Hoarding Prevention and Intervention, and Workplace Violence Prevention.

These are the men and women who respond when a call turns into a crisis. Investing in their training is an investment in every person they serve.

Thank you to the LCFD Project LIGHT and MIH teams for two days of real engagement and hard questions. That’s what good training looks like.
