Sally Hallada and her Mom, Mary Ann Steuterman, were my first mother daughter combination in my studio.

Sadly, Mary Ann Steuterman passed away this past weekend. Sally Hallada was a wonderful daughter to this special lady. And anyone who met Mary Ann instantly fell in love with her southern accent, her sweet smile and funny disposition.

I'm forever grateful to have this video, these photographs, and the memories of this day. I know Sally Hallada is too. RIP Mary Ann Steuterman

I love to tell stories with my photographs. If you have a story (we all do!) I'd love to tell it. A story of loss, or joy, sorrow, or contentment. Let me share it for you.

Recently I had somewhat of a different kind of photoshoot. I photographed a woman who was actively in her state of mental illness. Since I believe that every day is valuable and should not be wasted, I didn’t want to wait until her depression subsided or went away completely.

I believe she still had a story to tell no matter if she could smile for the camera or not. 📸

She agreed and gave me permission to share her images in the hopes that it might help someone else.❤️

This is what depression looks and feels like for one woman.
