💜 This week’s featured presentation was one that truly matters.
Thank you to Murray Papke with The Spring Shelter for sharing with BNI 918 Networkers about the incredible work happening right here in the Tulsa area to help individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and stalking.
What stood out to us is that The Spring is so much more than a crisis shelter. Their services meet survivors at different stages of their journey:
🏠 Emergency Crisis Shelter, immediate, safe and confidential shelter for survivors and their children escaping abuse.
🌿 Transitional Living, longer-term, private housing where survivors can continue rebuilding their lives while receiving support such as case management, counseling resources, legal assistance, transportation assistance, career and educational support, and parenting and family support.
💜 Non-Residential Services, help for survivors who do not need full-time shelter, including case management, support groups, counseling and mental health resources, legal aid, safety planning and even virtual advocacy, allowing someone to receive help without necessarily entering a shelter.
And this is where our network can help.
👉 Think beyond the person who may need their services. Think about the organizations that need to KNOW these services exist.

The Spring provides educational opportunities and trainings for churches, businesses and community groups to help more people recognize abuse and trafficking, understand the resources available, and know where to turn when someone needs help.
