We repaired this roller top floor scale recently. We were able to wire in a new “home run” cable without stopping production. We always do what we can to resolve any issues we are responding to without disrupting production, sometimes we don’t have a choice and production must be stopped. Luckily in this case it was a quick fix that resolved their drifting issue.

This is what it looks like when you have a bad load cell on a truck scale. (This error can be caused by other problems but it was a bad cell in this case.)

This error means that the scale is "underloaded" meaning that the mV reading is below the calibrated range. 🏋️‍♂️

To find out which cell is causing this error we measure each load cells output. (8 total on this scale). ⚡

The second slide is what the bad cell was outputting. (-2V) Typically an empty truck scale will have outputs ranging from 0.1mV - 10mV depending on the capacity of the cells and the type of deck. This can be caused by a cut cable or the cell itself being bad (the strain guage inside the cell that is unrepairable and must be replaced.

We carry load cells in stock of most common cell types, so we were able to install a new cell, check and adjust each section and calibrate the scale and get the customer back to using their scale! ⚖️✔️

Diagnosed a livestock scale yesterday. The issue ended up being a bad power source. Since scales with load cells use very low voltage (mV to be exact) and the difference in voltage to determine weight a bad power source can cause some serious issues. Luckily we were able to calibrate the scale with a generator so once the customer gets their power issue resolved they will have a working scale again! @ Eugene, Oregon

Earlier this week we did an install of a customers used scale they had laying around all the way in Lakeview, OR. We added new junction boxes and a new indidcator and some other equipment necessary to get the scale going. I didn't take very good before and after pictures because it was a busy day. We showed up to just blocks that were set for the scale to sit on. When we left the customer had a fully functional scale complete with a remote display (big reader board) and a printer. @ Lakeview, Oregon

Fixed up this bagging scale yesterday. Was able to get the customers production line back up and running, and bagging of course!

Little bit about bagging scales:
A "bagger" 's main function is to clamp and hold an empty bag and fill the bag with seed or whatever other product is being produced to a set amount, typically 50lbs and then it releases the bag to be sewn shut and ready to ship!
