*🚨 Immigration Update: Federal Court Vacates USCIS Nationality-Based Processing Pause*
A federal judge has ruled that USCIS's policy of pausing or withholding adjudication of certain immigration benefits for nationals of 39 countries, including Zimbabwe, was unlawful and has ordered the policy vacated.
If implemented, this ruling may allow USCIS to resume processing applications that were previously delayed under the policy, including certain Employment Authorization Documents (EADs), adjustment of status applications (green cards), naturalization applications, and other immigration benefits.
A few important points:
☆ This ruling does not automatically approve any pending case.
☆ USCIS may need time to issue guidance and resume processing.
☆ The government may choose to appeal the decision.
☆ Individual cases may still experience delays or require additional review for reasons unrelated to nationality.
For applicants from affected countries, Zimbabwe included, whose cases have been stalled, this is encouraging news and a significant development worth monitoring closely.
As always, I encourage individuals to rely on official USCIS updates and qualified legal advice before making decisions based on social media reports.
I will share additional updates as more information becomes available.
