Raccoon spotted riding alligators across florida lake. Locals in Florida have alerted wildlife officials about an unusual sight: a raccoon that has been seen riding alligators to cross a lake.

Residents say the raccoon has been spotted on at least three different alligators, casually using them as ferries to get across the water. Photos taken by onlookers show the animal perched on the reptiles’ backs, balancing as they glide across the lake.

Wildlife officials called the behavior rare but not impossible, noting raccoons are resourceful survivors.
