One cleaning route can include restrooms, tile and grout, carpeted corridors, and small spill work.

A one-size-fits-all equipment plan makes each of those jobs harder.

• How quickly does the space need to return to service?

Restrooms were the biggest problem space for 43% of BSC survey respondents.

That was higher than hard floors at 23% and carpet at 9% combined.

The finding points to a good question for BSCs and facility teams: Is restroom care being planned as a core part of the floor program, or handled only after complaints?

A strong restroom-care plan should account for:
• The surfaces and soil conditions crews face
• The tools needed for edges, grout, and tight spaces
• How quickly the area needs to return to service
