DRAGONFLY
This delicate creature has a powerful story: The dragonfly spends its first years of life living in the water. One day, when it is ready to change, the dragonfly climbs up a reed and miraculously begins to breathe air, crawling out from its old skin and unfolding the majestic wings which were there within its body all along. It is now carried by these wings to a new existence; a new plane of reality, which would seem too fantastic to be real to its other tiny friends still living in the pond.
The challenges we face in life will leave us forever changed. As the dragonfly’s story illustrates, we may even appear to vanish to our friends, but we have simply changed forms. A challenging life path can allow us to gather the strength needed to use the inner courage we’re born with. After this difficult transformation, survivors and those who fought gain a new and beautiful kind of power. There are stories of those who believe dragonflies visit us sometimes as messengers from loved ones who have passed on after undergoing this transformative journey, so keep this tale in mind the next time you see a dragonfly.

It's been a busy few months with various types of organizing challenges and I have enjoyed every moment of bringing these spaces back to their functional potential!

Photos show a storage shed, linen closet and kitchen cabinets that have been transformed. I have also tackled a number of basements, laundry rooms and a garage or two.

Here's a great before and after shot of some recent organizing I did for a client of mine. Her jewelry had gotten out of control and was not being worn.

With a little bit of patience and the right display pieces, she now has easy access to her jewelry and can coordinate her outfits in a jiffy!

So fun (for me) and very satisfying for us both!

Happy Autumn! Fall is a great time to get the attic cleaned out before the weather turns too cold to get up there.

Is your attic filled with items that you haven't look at in years? Now is as good a time as any to empty it out. Make some room for new insulation to keep you toasty through the upcoming winter.

Your garage and basement are other catch-all spaces that could probably use some attention before winter. Before bringing in all the outside furniture, toys, etc. and before you need access to the holiday decorations, let's take a look at what can go and organize the rest so it is easy to access when you need to.

Do you procrastinate putting your laundry away? Are you living out of your laundry basket and wearing the same outfits week after week?

Your closet would love you have you visit again! In a short period of time, I will empty your closet. You will sort through your belongings and I will put back only the items you absolutely love and that look good on you. I will take the discards to donation for you.

My favorite moment when working on a closet is when my client says "I have been looking for this!" OR "I forgot I had this!". It happens every time.

Having your closet organized by "like items" (short sleeved, long sleeved, etc.) in light to dark order, will make putting your laundry away a breeze. Getting dressed in the morning will be a pleasure.

Some good advice . . . Whole house clean outs can be incredibly overwhelming. The greatest gift you can give your children is to work on downsizing your belongings before they become a burden to them.

Summer is a great time to clean out the basement and garage. It is cooler than outdoors and there is so much stuff you can get rid of that has been lurking there for years. I know, I just cleaned mine out recently.

It is amazing how when you have a place to stash stuff that you can't make a decision on in the moment, it will live for years in a place that you don't spend a lot of time in (for obvious reasons).

Holiday decorations, kid's toys, camping gear, bits and pieces, etc. If your basement is filled to the brim, let's work on it together.

We can organize and store in an easy-to-access way that will make going into your storage space less scary. It feels great to donate and recycle and open up the space for the items that you do use on a regular basis.

I love helping people realize their goals of getting that project they have procrastinated about off their list.
