Happy 1-year SMAS-iversary, Tomas!
One year ago today, Tomas joined Sierra Managed Accounting Services as a Senior Staff Accountant, and we genuinely can’t imagine the team without him. He brings such a positive, calm energy to every day — the kind that makes everything feel more manageable and a whole lot brighter.
Whether he’s supporting clients with steady expertise, jumping in wherever needed, or heroically handling the office spiders 🕷️💪, Tomas shows up with consistency, kindness, and (always) a smile. That mix of professionalism and good-heartedness is rare, and we’re lucky to get to work with it every day.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Rachel Murphy 🌟

Meet Rachel Murphy, our very first hire over 8 years ago and an integral part of our team!

Growing up, Rachel envisioned a career in the medical field, but in 2012, her passion for accounting was ignited, changing her path forever. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western Governors University (WGU) and continues to enhance her expertise through ongoing education and various training opportunities.

Outside of work, Rachel loves spending time with family and friends, diving into a good romance novel or psychological thriller, and embracing the great outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, beach days, neighborhood strolls, snowboarding, dining on a patio, or taking her son to the park, she’s always up for an adventure!

One of the things she cherishes most is seeing the world through her son’s eyes. His excitement about the ordinary things in life brings her immense joy and serves as a beautiful reminder to appreciate the little things.

We are incredibly lucky to have Rachel on our team, and we appreciate her leadership, the hard work and positivity she brings to our workplace every day!
