Blackson Arrow WINNING
Bam Jones was number 2 qualifier, Mel #3, Joe #9, Steve #22. The entire Blackson Arrow team won 1st round and in the 2nd round Bam had to race Steve for the 3rd time this year. Bam lost with a .003 red light. So Steve, Joe, and Mel all won in the 2nd round so they have good chance to gain ground on number 1 since he lost in the first round.
Mel and Steve made the final for an all Blackson Arrow final. Mel won and Steve placed 2nd. The NMCA and NMRA then battled for a superbowl ring. So Mel had one more round against the NMCA champ in the blue Mustang.
NMRA won so Mel got a superbowl ring on top of the trophy. It was a great weekend. He also has taken position of first place in the points chase.
""Moving to the index categories we had near record turnouts for the season and Flex-a-lite Open Comp saw teammates from Blackson Arrow team beat out the field. Mel White worked the finish line stripe to beat Steven Daniels. It was a heads-up race, with a breakout, as both carried a 10.95 index. White ran 10.99 while Daniels posted an 11.02. The Detroit Locker Truck & Lightning class came down to Bob Dill who scored his first major class win in thirty-years of drag racing! The turbocharged Coyote engine powered his Gen II Lightning truck into the Aerospace Component’s Winner Circle as he beat Kennady Jones who broke out, handing the win to Dill.
Congrats to the teams. Thanks for Delivering the GO!
