Hello World! As the Founder & CEO of Light Switch Bio, I would like to introduce you to our new social media page!
We’re a seed-stage biotech startup with the mission to make drugs safer and more effective. We envision a world without side effects - where the personal costs of diseases are not compounded by imprecise treatments. In service of these goals focused on patient care, we are developing multiple drug delivery platforms that allow drugs to be activated with laser-precision to avoid off-target side effects. We are initially repurposing cisplatin for recurrent head and neck cancers to address the extreme morbidity associated with current cisplatin-based treatments for this extremely fatal cancer. Eventually, we plan to expand use of these platforms as alternatives to photodynamic therapy, systemic drugs (e.g. pills), and topical drugs to improve the safety and efficacy of treatments for many other cancers, skin diseases, and visible internal diseases.
We are currently working with stellar researchers and advisors from VCU Massey Cancer Center, Diligentia LLC, and The Center for Advancing Innovation; with further support and guidance from VCU Innovation Gateway, VCU Ventures, the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development, and others. Over the past four months, we have been with honored with recognition for our efforts by the Virginia Beach Bio Innovation Challenge, the Forbes Under 30 program, Virginia Bio, Activation Capital, RichmondInno and Venture Forum RVA!
