Which room is your worst? For my household it seems to be the kitchen. We have plenty of storage space but clutter accumulates - and sometimes households end up with two crockpots…(looking in the mirror at myself).

I have donation picking up today. I’m working through the spaces as much as possible. I’ve taken before pictures (some drawers & cabinets have been gone through already…this is a 15-minute assignment, not perfection)

My goal over this year is to be clearing out spaces over 12 weeks, and then we’ll do another pass through. I’ll have gone through my house 3 (three!) times before I’m going to say we are down to just what we need and love, and then we can get into organizing my spaces.

I’m going through a list (see pictures) in my notes app…one check mark means it’s been gone through once. By the end of the year there will be 3 check marks.

I’ve broken my home into smaller projects - 15-20 minutes of decluttering per space - maybe it’s a shelf, maybe it’s a drawer…but I intend to go through this house three times this year as I declutter. I anticipate a move in our future and I want to be ready - I’m not paying to move things that won’t come with me into the future.

Want to join me on this adventure? I may be able to start a small chat group or individual posts (specific to a room or space) and we can work together on the rooms, like an accountability group. Right now I’m in the kitchen. I cleared out two cabinets (a shelf at a time) and a junk drawer so far. I have donation pick up scheduled…and I’m listing things on the Buy Nothing page and some things for sale.

In about 10 weeks from now, I expect my first pass through will be completed (about 12 weeks at a time) and I will come back though the spaces again - so if now doesn’t work for you, we can look at March/April to jump in 🥰

How is your week going?

I am off this week and feeling a bit lost during that week between Christmas and New Years Day. I managed to take some time to do nothing earlier in the week so that today I woke up energized to get a lot of stuff accomplished.

I wrote out my roles in my life (Mom, Partner, Pet Owner, Self, and Business Owner…) and then wrote a list of tasks pertaining to each role.

For example, under pet owner I mentioned I needed to change the filtration in the cat water bowls, and schedule the pets for updated vaccines.

Under business owner I wrote tasks that would help me in my two businesses. And under self I included simple things (that if we’re not careful, due to not being on our normal schedule…) like lunch and water breaks.

I then looked at my day. I was starting at 8:20am and still needed to do my morning routine…I put everything on a timed schedule - time blocking is a great way to get things accomplished!

I accomplished everything but two things on my list and added something at the last minute from tomorrow (to free up time to shift the things from today).

I look forward to bringing in the New Year with a clean & tidy home, chores completed, etc, so that I can enjoy my family on Monday, too. 🥰

Happy New Year, everyone! 🥰

Stepping out of a comfort zone sounds scary, but what happens if you step out of it and into something more comfy, more you?

I’m working this next year on not just decluttering my own home (yes, the organizer needs it too), but organizing more so I can be more streamlined mentally and more productive. I am looking forward to a better fit of a comfort zone, something that is more me.

Maybe I can help you this next year find your new comfort zone 🥰
