Apparently my idea of preparing for maternity leave was… launching another business. 😂

Over the last few months, I’ve quietly been building Bea | Coastal Virginia Honey, a brand centered around raw, unfiltered Coastal Virginia honey and the everyday rituals that bring us together.

It’s been a full-circle project and a reminder of why I love helping businesses come to life.

If you’d like to follow along (or stock your pantry 😉), you can shop at beagoods.co 𖤜

One of my favorite parts of this work is getting to know the people behind the businesses. 🤍

I’m so grateful for every client who trusts me with their vision, their story, and the little details that make their business unique. Watching an idea grow into a brand and website that truly feels like them is the best part of what I do.

Thank you, Heather, for trusting me with yours. ✨

A new brand chapter is here. ✨

We’re celebrating the launch of Heather Truman, a new consulting firm built around helping organizations align their operations, teams, and systems to create meaningful, sustainable change.

Our goal was to create a brand and online presence that captured the heart of Bloom, Heather’s years of experience, her passion for helping organizations navigate change, and the lasting impact she’s creating through this next chapter.

A beautiful collaboration by:
▫️Web Design: Small Business Consultant + Web Designer
▫️Copywriting: Stelly Marketing / Stephanie Benson
▫️Branding: Jenna at JW Design Company
▫️Photography: Liza Wolfe - Photographer/ Creative Content Strategist

We’re excited to see Bloom step into this next chapter and share Heather’s expertise with the organizations she’s built this business to serve.

📍 Old Beach Art & Eco Market & Old Beach Farmers Market

Only took pics of a few vendors, but there are dozens of amazing businesses represented at these markets.💛 I love this small community of makers and growers.

One thing I’ve learned after 8 years of running my own business: the stories we tell ourselves matter.

If you go into every opportunity assuming it won’t
work, you’ll often find a reason to stop before you’ve really started. But when you stay open, take the next step, and keep showing up consistently, amazing things can happen.

There are no guarantees in business. No perfect formula. No magic shortcut.

But every proposal you send, every conversation you have, every blog post you publish, every small improvement you make to your website or marketing increases your chances of success.

Progress rarely comes from waiting until you’re certain. It comes from taking action before you have all the answers.

As someone who naturally tends to think through every possible worst-case scenario, this is something I have to remind myself of often. 😉

What if things work out better than you expected?

How’s your mindset been lately, friend?

“Very few people start a business because they want to run a business. People start businesses because they want to be financially free, because they’re passionate about a product, or because they want to help people. If the business succeeds, however, they often find themselves in foreign territory: they never actually learned how to operate a business.” - Donald Miller

I would say that most, if not all, of my clients don’t love the “running the business” part of their job. They hate being pulled into tasks that aren’t in their skill set or that they just don’t want to do. Whether it’s marketing, website and tech management, managing employees, sales, or finances…

I’d love to hear from you—what made you want to start your business, and what part of running a business do you find most challenging?
