Our Sip n’ Shop events at Visalia Vintage & Antiques have continued to grow in popularity! In January of this year, we were able to feature Tulare County-based companies Devin Nunes Wine and Kaweah Brewing. People turned out in droves for a beautiful evening supporting the Visalia Veterans Committee while enjoying tasty wine and beer selections. Hopefully, you were lucky enough to attend.
If you missed the last one, we’re thrilled to announce our second Sip n’ Shop event of this year is well on its way. On Saturday, June 22nd, from 4-7 pm, we’ll be featuring Westbrook Wine Farm and 1852 Visalia. Patrons can enjoy fantastic wine and beer pours at no cost; any donations received at this event will benefit Happy Trails Riding Academy. The local organization is a PATH International premier accredited center that enriches the lives of children and adults with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities through equine-assisted therapy. Happy Trails Riding Academy assists riders with Cerebral Palsy, ADD, ADHD, head trauma, brain injury, sight and hearing impairments, developmental disabilities, Autism, Down Syndrome, and more.
To familiarize our readers with the beverage menu and those who craft them, Westbrook Wine Farm is owned by long-time Winemakers Ray and Tammy Krause. Their wine farm is located along Fine Gold Creek in the historic Sierra gold mining hamlet of O’Neals, California, approximately 35 minutes from Fresno. Ray has been in the wine business for 60 years, and their wines are considered exceptional, according to reviews left by many Westbrook visitors. Especially by the editors of Wine Enthusiast, where the winery’s 2012 Fait Accompli Red Blend Madera received the Editor's Choice award with a score of 92! More recently, a score of 96, double gold and Best of Class was awarded for the 2011 vintage Fait Accompli by the Sunset International Wine Competition. Pretty impressive! Three of Westbrook’s popular favorites will be offered at our upcoming event.
Mr. Krause says tasters can get the whole experience at the Winery in O’Neals through a pre-arranged appointment where the company’s wines are exclusively available. His company emphasizes that they’re winegrowers, not just grape farmers, and they are pleased to discuss and demonstrate the difference with anyone visiting the winery.
If you’re in the mood for beer, our Sip n’ Shop event will feature 1852 Visalia for the first time. The company, located at 707 W. Murray Ave in Visalia, offers a unique atmosphere and experience that nobody provides. 1852’s modern and clean facility stands at nearly 30,000 square feet, hosts live soccer matches and serves delicious brews seven days a week. It's all about footy and brews, the company says, and, of course, highlighting the history and values of Tulare County. The company focuses on honoring a sport that brings people from all walks of life together, adding local pride to our region. Jeremy Schultz, Founder & CEO of 1852, has a steadfast love for the business, the sport of soccer, and Visalia itself. Mr. Schultz told us they’re just a few months away from celebrating their second anniversary and, in this short time, have experienced incredible growth. Two of the company’s core beers will be offered at Visalia Vintage & Antiques' upcoming Sip n’ Shop.
We hope everyone has enjoyed our event preview! Please all come out on Saturday, June 22nd, from 4-7 pm to celebrate with us and support a wonderful cause. We can't wait to see you!
Blessings to you,
Management
