Very large white faced hornets nest treated and removed in Aquebogue today!

By late September, white faced hornet nests can reach 10–14 inches or more as colonies reach their peak. With hundreds of hornets inside, these nests can become highly defensive when disturbed. If you spot one near your home, leave it alone and call a professional for safe removal.

Cicada killer nest spotted in my own yard this morning! These guys can be especially startling due to their size, 1.5-2inches. Because of this many people confuse them with the infamous “murder hornet”. Even though they look intimidating they rarely sting humans, males do not even have a stinger! And females will only sting when handled. They make their nests in dry soil and are beneficial in controlling cicada populations.

We rarely treat these nests as they don’t pose a threat to us. Treatment typically includes advising the homeowner to irrigate their yard more frequently (they love dry soil) and consider growing grass or mulching bald spots on your lawn.

I’m always happy to help with any pest questions or concerns!

Got ants?

Carpenter ants are highly active in the spring as colonies begin foraging and expanding. They excavate wood to create nesting galleries, which can compromise structural components such as wall voids, window frames, decks, and support beams over time. Common signs of activity include large ants indoors, sawdust-like wood shavings, moisture-damaged wood, and winged swarmers. Early detection and treatment can help prevent extensive damage and protect your home.

We provide a targeted treatment to rid your home of the colony.

It's Meet the Owner Monday! I'm Joe Fagan, the owner/operator. I'm as local as they come, a native North Forker from Jamesport. My father was a Detective Sergeant for Riverhead PD, and my mom grew up on a potato farm.

I graduated from Riverhead HS and received a degree from SUNY Alfred in motorsports technology. I've been wrenching since I was 16; it's still my passion. I still maintain my NYS inspection license. I ended up getting into pest control almost 10 years ago and ventured out on my own last summer.

I'm a NYS DEC-certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator and hold multiple categories to treat pests comprehensively. My company is also fully insured and a DEC-registered pesticide business. I strive to deliver affordable pest control for everyone that is pet and family safe.

Yesterday, I found these European Hornets that made their home in a birdhouse. These guys can be up to 1.5 inches long and are the only true hornet in North America. While not usually aggressive, they will defend their nest and food sources and can deliver a very painful sting.
