I woke up one day at the end of August 2016 knowing that Texas was no longer home. I had spent 32 years at that point building a certain identity.

Middle daughter, the one who got good grades, was helpful, kept the peace, a good girl and caused no problems.

The worst thing that could have been said about me was that I feigned stomach aches to get out of chores. 🤣

And after a stint in nursing, losing a job and having a hell of a time with standardized testing on boards… I decided I was either going to quit or go all in. I made A’s in nursing school, straight 100s at times.

Pediatrics was another story, and one class kept me from graduating and I had to retake it the following summer.

I took up all sorts of odd jobs in that 14 months, from the front desk lady at H&R Block, where I got some last minute proposals from black men with gold teeth wantin they sugah mama. Ok 🙄

…to overnight caregiving, office work, childcare, admin, errands, anything that could be helpful & make money. I made $9/hr and lived in various homes as a roommate trying to figure out owning an organizing business.

But I really had no idea - especially on the sales and marketing front. It felt like a total mystery, a foreign language.

On the one hand I knew I was good at it. On the other hand I struggled (badly) to charge what I knew other organizers charged - like $75/hr felt outrageous. I stayed at $15-$45 for the longest. I preferred to see myself as a helper.

For eight years from 2008-2016 I waffled through that mental logjam. What I really wanted were people who could see my value and pay me easily without negotiating or saying it was too much or that they needed to think about it. (And then silence)

This photo in Petoskey, Michigan was a moment. I looked out across these houses and the “salt free ocean” waves crashing in. What a dream, I thought. The water has always felt the most peaceful.

And something in me knew. If I wanted a business that would hold like the homes with waves crashing, it would require something different.

Mostly: an easy way for people to say yes to me.

By October 2016 I was living in Michigan, starting from scratch and going all in as an organizer.

This week, I’m sharing how I did it.

If you’re 2–3 years into your organizing business and still waking up wondering, “What should I be doing to get clients this week?” I see you.

You’ve put in the work.

You’ve had clients.

You know you’re good at organizing.

But sales and marketing can still feel like throwing things at the wall and hoping something hits.

A post here.

A networking event there.

Maybe follow up with someone.

Maybe change the offer.

Maybe try something new.

What I help you do is figure out what actually deserves your time so you can keep your calendar booked about 3 weeks out without constantly scrambling for the next client.

And when you get in your head about what to say or what move to make, you have someone to talk it through with so you can make the move and keep going.

Several of my clients have come to me around $1K–$4K months and, after making a few key changes, doubled or tripled their revenue within 3–6 months.

If you’re serious about growing and want help figuring out what to focus on next, comment MOMENTUM or message me.

One of the hardest parts of growing an organizing business is not having too little to do.

It’s having too many things you could do.

Post.

Follow up.

Network.

Fix the website.

Change the offer.

Try Facebook groups.

Run ads.

And meanwhile, you’re still not sure which one is most likely to put clients on the calendar.

That’s what I help you sort out.

We look at what’s actually happening in your business and narrow your focus to the few things most likely to keep your calendar booked about 3 weeks out.

So instead of reacting every time things get quiet, you know what deserves your time.

And when you start second-guessing what to say or what move to make, you have someone to talk it through with.

If you’re a few years into your organizing business and tired of guessing what to focus on next, message me.

Professional organizers, you know this moment.

The consultation felt good.

Then...
“I need to think about it.”
“Let me talk to my husband.”
“I’ll get back to you.”

And suddenly you’re back looking at everything again.

The price.

What you said on the call.

What’s included.

The website.

One “I need to think about it” can have you back looking at things you felt good about before she said anything.

But “I need to think about it” is not the same as “go back and fix your business.”

That’s what we’re looking at inside The Easy Yes.

You’ll leave knowing one thing you can stop second-guessing.

She said, “I need to think about it,” and now you’re nervous she’s not going to hire you.

Now you’re replaying what you said.

Rethinking the price.

Already tweaking the website.

Because one “I need to think about it” can turn into:

Was the price too high?

Did I explain it wrong?

Should I change what’s included?

And now one sentence has you rethinking things you felt good about yesterday.

But “I need to think about it” is not the same as “go back and fix your business.”

That’s what we’re looking at inside The Easy Yes.

You’ll leave knowing one thing you can stop second-guessing.
