With hundreds of new housing units being built across the city, it’s no surprise that we’d see an increase in calls to the Warwick Fire Department.

For the first time ever, we’ve topped 20,000 calls for assistance and calls will only increase as more construction is completed.

We’re thankful to work for a city that understands the importance of adequate staffing and the impact it has on the safety of citizens and firefighters alike.

With our Ladder Companies responding to thousands of calls per year, the increased staffing has certainly paid dividends as detailed several times on this page over the last year or so.

Likewise, the addition of a 5th Rescue Company helped fill a critical need. With Rescue 1 being among the busiest ambulaces in the Nation, and our others not far behind, it was certainly a vital addition.

No matter how busy we get, rest assured if you call, we’re coming.

Oh, and if you see the members from Station 1 floating, it’s because they’re on cloud 9 bragging about being the busiest. 🙄 😂

The Fraternal Order of Police Associates, along with the Warwick Police Department, Warwick Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, Warwick FOP Lodge #7, and the City of Warwick are having a Coat for Kids Drive.

Coats for Kids brings warmth to the hearts, minds, and bodies of children in need by providing them with new winter coats. Winter can be an especially difficult season for families experiencing financial hardship. The Coats for Kids program ensures that at-risk children stay warm when the temperature drops, helping these children stay healthy and attend school.

Please bring new or gently used coats to the Warwick Police Station up until Nov. 25th. Coats will be distributed by West Bay Community Action. We invite businesses, schools, churches, and organizations to join our Coat Drive.
