The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) Goes into Effect June 18

Starting June 18, the PWFA requires US businesses with 15+ employees to make accommodations for pregnant workers. Passed in 2023 and approved by the EEOC in April 2024, this law ensures fair treatment and reasonable accommodations.

Key accommodations include:

- More frequent bathroom breaks
- Less physically demanding tasks
- Use of a stool for standing tasks
- Dress code variances for maternity clothes
- Flexible scheduling for pregnancy-related appointments
