If you’re at come by and see our poster ( # 119) at 4pm today. And if you’re not here in Prague, we’d still love to share what we’ve learned about the differing perspectives of providers and patients about buprenorphine-related precipitated withdrawal in the era of fentanyl. With any luck we’ll have an open access paper out soon so we can get this info out far and wide—especially to people who prescribe buprenorphine. We need change!

Last week Facente Consulting spent time in Bozeman, MT for our semi-annual retreat. We were so lucky to be gifted a big house for the week, with glorious views and a quiet place to recenter and bond in the clean mountain air. There was a lot of good planning and discussion (not pictured, but we really did work!) plus some team-building over adorable alpacas, puzzle time in the house, hiking, and exploring all that Yellowstone National Park has to offer.

We work hard, but we take the time to enjoy each other, too, and remember why we work hard in the first place. Now we’re restored and ready to dig deep and keep going. We hope you get the chance to do the same in your work, too! ❤️🦙🌲🥾

Excited to be in Honolulu today and tomorrow training staff at the Hawai’i Department of Health about different strategies for collecting and using community-based data to drive planning of maternal and child health programs. It’s always a treat when consulting allows for travel, engaging with people doing such important work, AND the beach….😜🏝️🐠😎❤️

In collaboration with The Center at Sierra Health Foundation, Facente Consulting has developed a statewide landscape analysis and ten case study videos hosted on an interactive StoryMaps site (link in our bio!) highlighting how Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) save lives and strengthen communities.

California continues to face an urgent overdose crisis, with over 5,000 opioid-related deaths in 2024. MAT—such as methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone—is a proven tool that reduces overdose deaths and improves long-term care outcomes, and yet many communities still face barriers to access.

There is so much to digest, so keep your eyes open this week for key takeaways and video highlights. We’ll be featuring this project all week!

Facente Consulting is so honored to have been able to work with The Center at Sierra Health Foundation, Daigle Digital, and substance use providers around the state of California to create a series of short videos that highlight 10 different models of providing medications for addiction treatment (MAT) to support people with opioid use disorder.

On December 10 The Center at Sierra Health Foundation will be hosting a webinar with us from 12-1 PST, where people interested in learning more about these programs can join and ask questions of some of the amazing folks who've made it happen in their own sites!
