Yes, and an example is found when we consider the correct use of the subjunctive mood. The subjunctive mood is used if things are "iffy." An example is: " If I were a rich man." Saying or writing "if I was a rich man" is technically not correct grammar.

Metaphors are said to be valuable in the art of persuasion. Neuroscientists are looking into how and why they work. Research found that metaphors turn on (light up) different parts of the brain that literal language does not. This helps them persuade and have "sticking power."

Here's a grammar tip. We often fall into the habit of using duplicative subjects in a spoken sentence. Example: "My mother, she called me"...This is incorrect grammar. We should say only: "My mother called me."
