This funding from the U.S. Department of Labor will empower young people in Yazoo City with critical workforce training, education, and leadership development—helping them build brighter futures while strengthening the community.

With this investment, Gateway CDC will provide opportunity youth with hands-on construction training, industry-recognized certifications, and pathways to higher education and employment. This grant will not only uplift young people but also foster economic growth, safer neighborhoods, and a stronger Yazoo City!

This funding recognizes THA’s commitment to empowering residents with the resources and opportunities needed to achieve financial independence.

The FSS program plays a vital role in helping public housing and voucher-assisted families build savings, pursue education and job training, and work toward homeownership. With this grant, the Tuscaloosa Housing Authority will continue providing individualized coaching, financial literacy education, and employment support—helping families break the cycle of poverty and achieve lasting self-sufficiency. Congratulations to South San Francisco Housing Authority Executive Director Leah Taylor and the entire South San Francisco Housing Authority team for being awarded two significant grants from HUD!
They were awarded a Housing Related Hazards Capital Grant for $3,030,240, and a Lead-Based Paint Capital Grant for $388,000.

This funding will modernize public housing by removing outdated fuel-burning devices and converting units to fully electric, improving safety and environmental sustainability for residents, as well as enable crucial testing and abatement of any lead-based paint from the original construction, ensuring healthier homes for families.

These transformative projects showcase a commitment to creating safer, healthier, and more sustainable housing for the community.

We proudly celebrate Executive Director Ms. Rissina Hall and team members Darlene and Maria (pictured) for securing a $247,800 Housing Related Hazards Capital Grant from HUD! This funding, awarded under the Housing Related Hazards Capital Fund Grant program, will directly address radon exposure in the George Washington Carver Homes (TX020000001).

Carver Homes consist of 300 public housing units. All 300 units, which are ground-contact and directly exposed to radon from soil, will undergo testing and mitigation activities to meet HUD Environmental Review standards. This vital work ensures safer living conditions for residents. Thank you to the Bryan Housing Authority team for your dedication to creating healthier and safer homes for your community!

Congratulations to Warner Robins Housing Authority Executive Director, Ms. Africa Porter, Director of Procurement Andre Washington, and the entire WRHA community on their $613,200 FY2024 Housing Hazards and Lead Based Paint Capital Grant award from HUD!

This funding will support critical capital improvements to public housing by addressing hazards that threaten resident health and safety. With this award, WRHA will convert the Jimmy Rosenberg Public Housing development from gas to fully electric heating systems and appliances, effectively eliminating risks associated with carbon monoxide.

Kudos to the WRHA team for their dedication to improving resident well-being!
