سوريا: الجهاديون لا يصبحون معتدلين لمجرد أن العالم يمنحهم ألقابًا جديدة
ما حدث في الصورة الكبرى في السويداء يجب أن يبدّد الوهم القائل إن مشكلة الجهادية في سوريا قد اختفت لمجرد أن أحمد الشرع، أبو محمد الجولاني، استبدل صورته كقائدٍ مسلح بلقب «الرئيس».
أصدر مسيحيو الصوّارة الكبرى بياناً رسمياً بتاريخ 8 آب/أغسطس 2026، أدانوا فيه تدنيس مقبرتهم بعد تهجير أبناء مجتمعهم من البلدة.
فُتحت القبور.
وعُبث بالتوابيت.
وكُشفت الجثامين.
ويصف البيان حالات فُصلت فيها رؤوس عن أجساد.
وبحسب التقارير، تعرضت المقبرة الدرزية لأعمال تدنيس مماثلة
هذه ليست تحذيرات نظرية مما قد يجلبه التطرف الديني إلى سوريا يوماً ما. هذا هو الواقع الذي تواجهه المجتمعات المستضعفة اليوم
إن سلطة الأمر الواقع حالياً في سوريا انبثق من حركة إسلاموية جهادية مسلحة. ولم تكتسب هيئة تحرير الشام تاريخاً مختلفاً لمجرد أن زعيمها، أحمد الشرع، المعروف سابقاً باسم أبو محمد الجولاني، دخل دمشق، وتبنّى خطاب الدولة، وبدأ باستقبال الوفود الأجنبية
تغيير اللقب ليس دليلاً على تغيير الأيديولوجيا
ارتداء البدلة لا يمحو ماضياً جهادياً
والاعتراف الدبلوماسي لا يلغي مسؤولية التدقيق في القوى والقادة والمؤسسات والأيديولوجيا التي تمارس السلطة اليوم
كما لا ينبغي مطالبة الأقليات بالمقامرة بحياتها اعتماداً على وعود بالاعتدال
يقول مسيحيو الصوّارة إن أبناء مجتمعهم مهجّرون منذ 13 تموز/يوليو 2025. ويصف بيانهم أعمال تدمير وحرق طالت قرى وكنائس مسيحية، ويطالب بعودة السكان الآمنة إلى ديار أجدادهم. وبعد أكثر من عام، ما زالوا يطالبون بالأمن والعودة، والآن لم تسلم حتى قبور موتاهم من الانتهاك
وليس مسيحيو ودروز السويداء وحدهم من يطلقون ناقوس الخطر. ففي مختلف أنحاء سوريا، واجه العلويون والمسيحيون والدروز والكرد وغيرهم من المجتمعات انتهاكات جسيمة في خضم المرحلة الانتقالية العنيفة التي أعقبت سقوط نظام الأسد
ولهذا تحديداً، يجب على المجتمع الدولي أن يتوقف عن تقييم حكام سوريا بناءً على الخطب والمظاهر الدبلوماسية وعمليات إعادة التسويق السياسي، وأن يبدأ بتقييمهم بناءً على ما يحدث للمجتمعات المستضعفة في ظل المنظومة التي يسيطرون عليها
تستغل الحركات الجهادية الفرص التي يخلقها انهيار المؤسسات، وانعدام الأمن، والإفلات من العقاب. ولا يزول خطرها لمجرد أن يتغير شكل خطابها أو صورتها السياسية
على المجتمع الدولي أن يطالب بالمساءلة، وإجراء تحقيقات مستقلة، وحماية المجتمعات المهددة، وضمان العودة الآمنة للمهجّرين، وتوفير ضمانات حقيقية للحرية الدينية تستند إلى آليات قابلة للإنفاذ، لا إلى مجرد وعود

حتى الموتى لم يعودوا آمنين
لا يجوز السماح لأي عملية إعادة تسويق دبلوماسية بأن تحجب الاضطهاد الديني.
ولا يمكن لأي انتقال سياسي أن يضفي الشرعية على الجهادية.
كما يجب ألا تصبح المجتمعات الدينية الأصيلة في سوريا الثمن الذي يدفعه العالم مقابل وهم الاستقرار

SYRIA: JIHADISTS DO NOT BECOME MODERATES BECAUSE THE WORLD GIVES THEM NEW TITLES
What happened in Al-Sawara Al-Kubra, Suweida, should destroy the illusion that Syria’s jihadist problem disappeared when Ahmad al-Sharaa, Abu Mohammad al-Julani, exchanged his militant image for the title of “president.”
Christians from Al-Sawara Al-Kubra have issued a formal statement dated August 8, 2026, condemning the desecration of their cemetery after their community was displaced.
Graves were opened.
Coffins were disturbed.
Bodies were exposed.
The statement describes cases in which heads were separated from bodies.
The Druze cemetery was reportedly subjected to similar desecration.
These are not abstract warnings about what religious extremism might someday bring to Syria. This is what vulnerable communities are confronting now.
Syria’s current de facto regime emerged from an armed Islamist-jihadist movement. Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham did not acquire a different history simply because its leader, Ahmad al-Sharaa, formerly known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani, entered Damascus, adopted the language of statehood, and began receiving foreign delegations.
A change of title is not proof of a change of ideology.
A suit does not erase a jihadist past.
Diplomatic recognition does not erase the responsibility to scrutinize the forces, commanders, institutions, and ideology now exercising power.
And minorities should not be required to gamble their lives on promises of moderation.
The Christians of Al-Sawara say their people have been displaced since July 13, 2025. Their statement describes destruction and burning affecting Christian villages and churches and calls for the safe return of residents to their ancestral homes. More than a year later, they are still demanding security and return, and now even their graves have been violated.
Christians and Druze in Suweida are not alone in sounding the alarm. Across Syria, Alawites, Christians, Druze, Kurds and other communities have faced grave abuses amid the country's violent post-Assad transition.
This is precisely why the international community must stop judging Syria’s rulers by speeches, diplomatic appearances and political rebranding, and start judging them by what happens to vulnerable communities under the system they control.
Jihadist movements exploit opportunities created by collapsing institutions, insecurity and impunity. Their threat does not disappear because their political presentation changes.
The international community must demand accountability, independent investigations, protection for threatened communities, the safe return of displaced residents, and guarantees of religious freedom backed by enforceable mechanisms, not promises.
The desecration of Christian and Druze graves in Suweida sends a horrifying message:
EVEN THE DEAD ARE NOT SAFE.
No diplomatic rebranding can be allowed to conceal religious persecution.
No political transition can legitimize jihadism.
And Syria’s indigenous religious communities must not become the price the world pays for the illusion of stability.
