After 5 and a half years, I decided to leave Houston which became my home. I’m so thankful for every lesson I learned, friend I gained, job I held and so much more. It’s something so amazing, scary and empowering to just pick up your 4 year old, leave your home at 30 and just go across the country where you know absolutely no one. I literally left DC to go to Houston never having visited, with a job, an apartment I picked online and a car full of our stuff. Houston has been so much to me and it grew me up. With no safety net, I had to figure a lot out on my own. And I did. Me and Langston have been through 3 relationships, 2 hurricanes, 1 tornado, and a freeze (and a lot more). Couldn’t nothin take us down. We strong. Our bond is stronger for it. I’m so proud of my son and his strength. His kindness. His crazy protection of me at just 9 years old. So, it’s his turn. He wanted to be around family and have that support and love. No brainer. DC, we back! Houston, I’m forever grateful for everything I gained while there. I wouldn’t be the woman I am today if I didn’t take that leap of faith. Houston, it’s not goodbye cuz I’m gonna be an honorary Houstonian forever (and I still operate my event planning business there). ❤️❤️❤️
